Wheel Spacers....which ones to get?

I got spidertrax 1.25" installed recently. I didn't torque the nuts just a tightened them with an air impact. I thought about torquing them but how do I do that? I need to block the rotor to keep it from spinning. Any easy tricks?

Impact is for REMOVING lug nuts.
Just have someone step on the brake pedal while you torque nuts.

And for putting them back on. Just have to feel how tight it is. I usually torque my lug nuts after and I always get them just a bit under with a my impact. If you can't feel it, use your hands.

I admit I was a bit lazy to torque the nuts on the spacers but I had no problems since I installed them. I will do it eventually. I'm sure i got it close with my impact!;)

So whats the widest spacer I can run on my stock 99, is it 1.25"? And will it rub? Also, since I have the limited model with fender flares will I even notice is it worth it? Im not interested in getting 265 75 16 tires because I just recently got new tires. thanks

Yes you will rub... Very seldom though at full turn. I wouldn't go any more than 1.5"

Had to cut flare on front side an pinch weld on back side but I'm happy with the look

I'm having a hard time visualizing how it's even possible to put the lugs on backwards. How is that done?

I tired to dig up the post but it was bashing Spidertrax for no reason so maybe it was deleted.

You know how lugs are tapered to fit into the wheel or in this case into the wheel spacer? Well this guy put the flat end of the lug nut towards the spacer which is "backwards".

just got my spidertrax in the mail and they look great for being the marked down blemished ones

install tomorrow after cars and coffee

Hey good lookin rig.

You did 1.25" front AND back?
I heard somewhere on this forum that our 3rd gens have a .25" shorter rear axle than the front, and it would be recommended to get 1.25" front and 1.25" rear to even out the stance.

Anyone else hear this as well or know of the axle lengths? :twitch:

Spidertrax are always on ‘backorder’ from the MFG site, but always available from resellers. That is where they recommended I get them last month. Most ppl recommend NOT using cheap Chinese spacers. BORA is another US spacer MFG but are more than Spidertrax. And to the to the person who said they ‘didnt bother’ to torque the new spacer nuts on the factory studs correctly, that's bad advice. Put the truck in 4WD before you park to do the install and the front wheels wont spin when you torque. Parking brake on for rears of course.

Thanks for the advice. I'm really only lookin for 0.5-1.0in of spacing, I feel like it will be perfectly aggressive with the 1in wider wheels and 4in of backspacing instead of the stock 4.5in. Unless there's a reason you think one should go for the additional quarter inch and/or avoid WAUSA?
I run WAUSA 1.5 spacers on my rear end. No issues. Make sure you’re anal about checking torquing, rechecking and telling shops not to blast the lugs with an impact.
Great to hear, thanks

Got it - I missed that part of your equation - disregard.
