wheel spacers

Did you get this mounted? I still haven't gotten my Runner back from the bumper shop so I haven't taken that pic yet....

I have new tires, a daystar lift, and the wheel spacers sitting in my garage. I have not done anything yet. Been gone the last 3 weeks. I have a buddy who is more knowledgeable than me and is supposed to help me this weekend.

If you get a chance that would be great though. If not, thats ok too

Nice... I am planning on picking up the Runner today so I should be good to get that pic to you before this weekend.

One thing to keep in mind is, if you do have to loosen the lower control arm to get the strut in / out you might want to mark the alignment adjustment dials with a sharpie or something so you can get it close to the same spot when you put everything together... I make the mistake of not paying attention to this my 1st time b/c I knew that I would need an alignment anyway however... b/c the alignment was SO off, they front end shop needed to have my Runner 2x to get it correct.

I have also done 4Runner spacers when I didn't need to loosen the lower control arm... I hope that you don't have to!

Another good little 'tidbit' of info is: on the rears, use the stock bottle jack to help spread the rear axle from the frame. If you have 2 people, you can push the rear end down by hand but it is a pain and it could slip. I stuff the bottle jack in and crank it until I can get the springs in and out... works great!

Here is a cell phone pic of what I am talking about, I hope this helps. This way you can hold the hub steady with one hand, torque the spacer nuts with the other hand and not damage the threads.

Tip for the front installation: Before starting, lock the center differential and put the 4WD selector in 4Lo. This keeps the wheels from spinning while tightening the lug nuts.

Got a question you guys may be able to clarify. I just bought an 05 SE V6 (2WD) and just joined your site. This is my first 4Runner - I really like it. I want to use spacers to fill out the wheel wells. I have a couple questions regarding these wheel spacers:

1. I am not sure which ones to select (1.25", etc.) to fill the wheel well without rubbing the fender or having to raise the vehicle. Maybe one of you have an 05 2WD and can give your suggestion.

2. Are these bolt on spacers safe? Don't mean to sound like a noob but I am curious.

theres a bunch of threads on wheel spacers, this will get u started. u may not have to trim if u stick with the stock size tires. Thanks for the input. I will start here and see what I can buy to change the OEM offset. Even spacing the wheels out 1.5" should make a noticeable difference.
