Wheels to fit a 5th gen AND a 3rd gen (backspacing)

I have a completely stock 99 sr5 4x4 with original 16" rims and 265/70/16. I'd like to buy some winter tires and steelies that I can also use for a 5th gen if I buy one. Tire rack recommends me 265/70/17 blizzaks for a 5th gen which should be fine for my 99 I'm wondering about the wheel backspacing.

3rd gen OE has 4.625 backspace and 5th has 4.5 I believe. What backspacing should I look for with a 17x8 wheel?

Tire rack has a "Black Rock 937 Type 8P Steel" with 5.039" BS. Too much?

You're good to go with 5" or less BS. The only concern would be the aftermarket wheels "dish thickness". While you can use a 5"BS on any aluminum 17x8, the casting of the wheel allows for some room at the caliper. Because most, if not all, steelies are stamped; there may not be enough caliper clearance at the wheel face. Another concern would be the center bore. But as long as you follow the measurements there, you shouldn't have a problem.

Well I saw a 3rd gen with the 5th gen LE 20" wheels on it, they make blizzaks in that size. Just say in'

I think I will just get the 4.5" 0 offset atx mojaves.
