I'll bet $20 you've got a couple of valve stem oil seals leaking a little bit.
 
I would agree with bfad. Mine is doing something very similar.

Question for you. Are you getting any blow by? Oil in the intake?

Bingo. The valve seals are bad (cracked). So the 4runner is now getting a valve job. Good thing my credit card was just paid off. :crybaby:

My brother thinks I should just sell it and transfer my parts to another vehicle but I wouldn't get squat for it with it the way it is now. I already have way to much into her now.
 
Is this 4runner that bad? What else is wrong? I really like that color and I feel like you have a good platform already built. The money that you'd probably lose in the sale would most likely pay for all the repairs. Just one way to look at it.

Not really. It's just been a lot of little things.

I had a feeling. My Supra used to exhibit the same symptoms and a couple of leaky valve stem oil seals was the problem.

Your brother sounds like a quitter. :p
 
Smallfry, not to detract from your thread, but Im from Cheyenne! I grew up there. I just noticed in your thread that youre living there now. Youre picture on p.1 looks like Medicine Bow mountain range just off of Happy Jack road. Have you been to Curt Gowdy State Park? Its the popular place to be when youre from Cheyenne.

The next time I take a trip back there to visit family Ill have to let you know.

Nope, that photo was taken down in Colorado. I'm actually up in Sheridan.
 
Had the 4runner back for a little bit and so far so good. Looking at now working on some of the interior items that are bugging me.
 
After some down time the WhiteKnight is back in action and running better than ever.

What a better way to enjoy her than a camping trip into the Northern Bighorn Mountains.
