Here's my problem with the Bernster and his cultists - they want to increase reliance on the Federal government, and that's not acceptable. They either haven't thought it through or are not willing to put the work in to better their own lives, and they don't think anybody else should have to either, and they're willing to demonize anyone that suggests that just maybe folks ought to keep what they earn and shouldn't get things they haven't.

The policies Sanders wants to put in place, while they may not be Big S Socialism (yet), have the same effect: they remove personal responsibility, accountability, and liberty from the equation. We should be developing our economic system in a way that encourages development and self reliance, not in a way that drives more and more people to the federal feeding trough.

And this is the problem with politics - misinformed people. No candidate, let alone Bernie, is going to tax people at 65%. The best thing to do is educate yourself, read, critical think...and then make your own informed decision. Don't trust what you hear on Fox news or the media. Anyway, enough of this thread.

The 65% came right from the article I linked above from that bastion of conservatism, the New York Times. Maybe it's an exaggeration, but there is no doubt he needs a lot more of our money to pay for all of his rainbows and unicorns.

IF you read Sander's tax reform plan, you'll plainly see that your taxes won't increase. the most significant new income will come from fixing the loop holes that allow huge corporations to stockpile their revenues offshore tax free, and setting a .5% flat tax on all stock trades. everything else is the byproduct of fixing where the money goes.

No name calling. I won't shut this thread down yet but the next person to call someone something other than friend or sir or colleague here will get banned and this thread will cease to exist. Got it? And those of you that did call someone else a name please go back and delete your post. Why? Because in six months I will get a complaint from someone else on that exact same post.

While you guys are studying up on your history read up on why the members of congress call other members they disagree with or hate with a passion "colleague" or "gentleman" or something else civil. It's what you do in a debate guys and these posts are nothing more than a debate.

I counted at least ten different people in this one thread who broke the rules. Even this thread broke the rules! If it were one person or two I would deal with it that way. In this case it's the thread topic that inflames. Look, even though this forum has rules against religious or political posts, pretty much anything that includes current events is going to be political or religious in some way. The problem isn't the thread topic, the problem is name calling and crass profanity in this and other threads. If people would just learn to state their position without judging or name calling this would be fine. The problem is there are some here that don't want to be called names nor do they want to see something or someone they like called names either. When that happens they complain. When they complain we get involved.

We'll see though. If people cannot hold their fingers back and keep from name calling this thread will be closed and those people will be dealt with accordingly. I posted the warning.

Nothing, and I mean not. a. thing. is ever free. One of the first lessons I taught my children and I continued to reinforce it throughout their childhood. It was funny some of the things they came up with.

Bush was a progressive just as Obama is. Real conservatives condemned bush for doing that.
