I mean considering people are blaming everything inconvenient in their life on him already why not now?

I really think it's got to be due to being the first pres during a time of overwhelming American access to Internet but it's beyond me simply how much people complain about Obama. People simply have access to an outlet to complain constantly and waste time instead of actually doing something. But, maybe not .....maybe I'm the only one who has done well (Sorry to brag but actually I'm not) considering I know very well a friend who blames Obama Obama Obama right now and has prospered more in the last 6 years than in his whole life other than simply aging.

(In upcoming part not meaning you specifically, but "people"... I'm serious I'm not attacking you I promise. It's easy for that to get misinterpreted)

Have people really had it That bad only for these 7 years of their life? Are you really really sure that the only person responsible for that is this president? You don't have any personal responsibility at all for your life?

When you sit your daughter/son down one day did/will you tell him one day he/she(y'all see how equality I just was-daaaamn) will be grown up and it's important that she/he stands tall and blames the current or most recent president that he/she didn't like for her/his problems?

Since everything negative is his fault is he directly responsible for everything good to? My house, no car payments at all, bought my dream race car. Should I write him a letter and thank him for that or is any of that due to my hard work?

Presidents suck sometimes, other times they do things you like. Put the big kid pants on and stop blaming another guy for all your problems whether he wears a red tie or a blue one.

its a bit of a running joke as far as im concerned. for a long time, if anyone said anything about something Obama did, his supporters would immediately blame bush for it.


personally, I don't blame him for anything in MY life. however, I also do not credit him for anything either.

My family got kicked off our affordable Health insurance. That was Obama's fault. Our new plan has double the max out of pocket, a smaller network and costs 20% more than our old plan. That's Obama's fault too.

My mother-in-law had to find a new doctor thanks to the unaffordable care act.

My friend Charles had his family forced off their affordable insurance too. Now his kids are on welfare "insurance" and he's still paying through the nose for his and his wife's private coverage. That's Obama's fault, too.

I'm unclear as to your point, here. Are you saying that because the stock market crashed in '08 that it was ok for the democrats to destroy the health insurance industry, or are you saying that it's somehow my fault that the unaffordable care act outlawed my family's existing plan and made the replacement dramatically more expensive?

I think it's important to remember not to take too seriously off topic sub forums on obscure off-road truck forums. People can relax a bit and make jokes just as much as they can participate on other levels.

and yet there are frequent reminders from mods about behavior/decorum issues in OT. if it's a free-for-all, so be it. but it appears as though there's some effort to not turn it in to a free-for-all. that's probably a good thing.

it is (and should be) possible to have differing opinions without disliking the person, congress notwithstanding.

anyway, it was an observation, not directed at any one member.

When it's good natured ribbing or a slight jab at the opposition then that's one thing. When it becomes personal is when it becomes a problem

Question: Why do so many of you become offended (read: hurt feelings) when someone states an opposing viewpoint?

Example:
Statement - I like Joe Mama for president because ________.

Offended Reply - I hate Joe Mama! He is stupid, dumb and lazy! Anyone who votes for him is insane and a half wit! He represents the singularity party which is full of no good moderate dirty people. His wife is ugly and his kid is a leech and smells funny to boot! His hair is green and he has a beer belly. He was terrible when he was a senator engineer. He is Judeaumustianist in faith! Not even a real religion! Kill 'em all! blablabla. (this sounds familiar right?)

Correct Reply - I don't think Joe Mama would be a good president because he (fill in the blank with factual detail).

Have some control people. It's not personal when someone does not believe in the same things you do. If it becomes personal it's a problem.

In the various generation 4Runner sub forums, there is always "that guy" who believes that some myth (nitrogen in tires, changing oil every 3K, CAI, etc) is fact. When his bubble is burst-ed, (lol) many of them become very defensive, even when documented proof is offered! Why? Because they are A) embarassed B) not smart enough to realize they are wrong C) cannot believe someone is smarter than them.
When dealing with opinion (like this thread) it becomes even worse because there is no proof what kind of president any of them would make. None of them have done it yet! Yet, just as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, people hurl ideas and comments with total disregard for the truth. Even better is when an article is quoted (as "proof") that is in reality just an opinion of like minded people.

Just my thoughts on this.
