Why no 4X4 badging?

Anyway, I thank you all for entertaining me during my lunch hour today.
I have a tacoma and for some reason I alway look at the mudflaps as one drives by.
I have seen plenty of folks who put lifts and mud tires on on a 2wd truck because they like the look.

I think a small 4X4 badge above the rear bumper or on the front grill would have been nice.

I dont want one enough to go buy one, but I was just curious as to why it would not have one when most vehicles do have something to diferentiate the models.

Sorry if my post caused any hard feelings, Im just here to learn and do a little research. This will be the wife's vehicle so the mods will be narrowed down to weather tech mats, antmans cupholders in the rear bumper, and maybe a dual battery. After 10 years she will need a new car and then it will be mine......

I know I missed out on all the fun while I was away, but after having gotten up to speed on this thread, I sure seems like one certain person was the root of all the bickering if you ask me. But, I like to remain as unbiased as possible, so I won't name names.

I read just about every post in this section. I receive many email notifications of reported posts, and if people are being rude their posts are deleted and I PM them. Such posts are probably deleted before you have a chance to see them. I guess you just have a hard time deciphering when someone is joking around and when someone is being an ass.

The only "unwelcoming" thing I can think of here is when people post redundant questions without searching. In your eyes we should all answer their question and thank them for joining. But that isn't doing them, or the forum any favors. This forum is like a giant filing cabinet and everything has its place. Having ten threads asking if you can lift a TE with KDSS doesn't help those searching for info.

Which brings me to my next, and final point. Rants like yours should be in the "off topic" section and not used to turn someone else's post into your personal agenda.

Lets get this thread back on topic please.
 
Best way to identify the 2wd 4Runners and any other 2wd SUV = "Brush Guard" and tail light guards. :bounce:

As far as badges, I know my 2000 and 2008 had 4wd badges.
