winter rims; tpms sensors

If I didn't install TPMS sensors on the winter rims, would the TPMS light stay lit, or would it blink?

I can live with a TPMS light on the dash. I cannot tolerate a blinking light for the next 4-5 months however.

you could get fancy and take the TPMS off and build a little shuttle with a stem built in and sealed one side, the other is screw on with teflon tape, pump the thing up to which ever psi makes it shut up and store it anywhere in/on the car so it can get read. i believe i read about something like that on the fjcruiser forums.

Stick your TPMS tire stem sensors in a pvc vessel like this. Pressurize it to 35-40psi and then toss it in the back of your truck. Problem solved.

if you Google "TPMS bomb" or "TPMS pipebomb" you'll see this has been done for a very long time.

BTW anyone remember the brand of TPMS that you can clone to the same ID as your originals?

Mine are Dorman brand, but I think there are a few (that may or may not be all manufactured by the same OEM facility - IDK). Haven't had any issue with mine in 2 winters yet. I like this option best as I still have the functioning TPMS capability (it has saved me a couple times noticing the flats more quickly). It was a one time expense (or once every 6-8 years, whatever), and now I can swap whenever I want.

Good choice. I've had that same setup for four winters. Blizzaks are great, and in 4WD you're about as good as any vehicle is going to get - the only potential problem is becoming over confident.
