Winter wheels or tires?

I really like the rims on the trail model, but I'd like to be able to swap between a p rated stock highway tire and a LT all terrain (duratrac or bfg ko). I really don't want 2 sets of wheels, but it sounds like a pain to swap tires on the same wheel. Thoughts?

For WINTER conditions, get WINTER tires. I bought FJ steelies and Blizzaks, no TPMS (ignore the light). No swapping tires, re-balancing, etc. You can DIY pretty easily.

it's not much of a pain it's just going to cost you every time you swap the tires. And might require extra trip in the shop if they didn't balance tires correctly.

I would get two sets of wheels if I were to change tires.

Got steelies on the winters ... simple and easy. Option if you want sensors. I have been living with the red light on the last 2 winters OR put black tape on the console to cover it.

I bought steelies and had them powder coated a satin finish black and run them with the matching OEM steel center caps and black lug nuts as my 3 season set-up (BFG All Terrains BTW). I prefer the look on my red Trail Edition to the alloys. I then run Goodyear DuraTracs with studs in the winter on the OEM alloys. Been running 2 sets of wheels on everything we've owned while living here in Oregon. Tis' much easier.
