Wiper question

I just had my windshield replaced in my '04. The installer said the wiper arms were backwards. I never noticed it. But he switched them. This is like my 3rd windshield, so another tech might have done it. My question is, how can I tell if this was the case. Does the longer wiper go on the driver's side? To me, both wiper arms look identical, just he blade are different sizes.

Book says 22 inch driver side and 20 inch passenger side. I use 22 on both sides. Better coverage on passenger side and there is no interference.

Wow, I'll have to try this next year (just replaced them recently). I always thought coverage is just so so. Any recommendations on brand?

Too bad they aren't serviceable with new inserts...at least I assume Bosch doesn't sell Icon refills.
I don't know if they have refills. I have used other refills in the past but when I searched for Bosch Icon on Amazon they just show the full wipers. Since they last a long time I don't worry about it because with the heat, road salt, baking sun etc. it's nice to not have worn looking arms on the T4R :)

As a forever German car guy, BMWs for the past 40+ years as a DD, I think well of Bosch. But not their wiper blades, at least not since the days of aircooled VWs from the 60s. They do have several different lines, but do they tell you their cheap ones are junk? Some time ago now, I bought a set of Bosch blades. I'm sure low line, I'm a cheap SOB, but good quality is good quality, right? Two weeks later I trashed them for a set of $1.99 refills from Walmart.

Currently I daily an E39 BMW, 530i. Very few options, weird arms. Bosch, blades only, not refills, for $25 if you can find them and get decent shipping costs. For which they are distinctly mediocre. You know, like the cheap no name stuff from chain auto parts stores. I get 8-10 months out of them.

Maybe, maaaaaaaybe, their high end stuff is better. Or better enough to justify the price. I like their electrical stuff, starters, alternators and much more. But wipers? I can't always avoid them, but I sure try, just due to experience.
