Wired HDH, anyone used one?

The geek in me say "HECK YES!" but I need to look at it a little more for a final verdict. You would need to mount the control box somewhere under the dash. Power to the controller still through the firewall, plus whatever accessories are controlled up front. and a ground most likely.

How does it mount to the dash? I didn't see anything obvious about that.. (and BTW.. flash based websites are soooo 1990ties! LOL)

That's really cool! Looks like they thought of everything. Too bad it's $420, or I would be rewiring stuff.

I can see the price being a con. But gauge wire? Most switches do not need to handle the amp load. I would expect to use maybe 5 amps at most (if that).
The only other negative would be the relays for anything you would want to control. But I guess you'd have to wire up relays anyway (regardless of what switches you go with).
 
No thanks. not only are the over priced but the ergonomics seem poorly thought out.
Maybe I didn't find the right description or video but I didn't see any back lighting for the switches which makes them a PIA to use at night. Also what's with having a label area, a button area and an indicator area? Why can't these be all in one? Also, I have a lot of uses for on-off-on which these don't address.

I'll stay with regular rocker switches at 1/10 the cost and much more functionality and closer matching appearance.
 
The cost & issues mentioned are definite drawbacks, but it's still a pretty cool idea for the future.

I'm thinking about how they'd be if you could mount them along side of an aftermarket head unit in all of that blank space. It would be cool to have functional switches that didn't need a lot of space behind them so you could mount them in such a location.

Would definitely want the button & label as a single item though - great point Grant.
 
Wireless interface between controller and buttons panel would justify a pretty steep cost.

It has an adhesive back. You're so right about 1990's!!!

True. I had Paul use a heavier gauge wire for the rigid LED's after the horror story of another customer. The customer bought a Rigid Industries 40" light bar and the wire harness melted... now there's most likely more to the story but i said i want these wires that are going to be all over my truck installed ONCE and run stone cold! I forgot what he used on mine, though its to thick for those small INPUT holes (no dirty minds) of the Wired HDH. You're right though.

let the record show that i didn't know what the hell it was till after 2 or 3 minutes looking at their website.

Good point's you've got there, thanks for your input. I totally agree with you. That is why this came in the mail today... (see image)

I was curious to see if anyone had installed a Wired HDH as I just stumbled across it at 4 wheel parts and thought I would share. Too pricy for purpose in my opinion though a nice clean set-up for those who don't want to dremel as much. Mind you I could go crazy with the promgramble option on my rigid lights...:naughty:

Looks like now two of us have Front Locker switches. Just switches mind you but inch by inch, step by step...........:p

Are you just doing the front locker? Or have you already done the rear?
 
I did and love it. Sure it was expensive. But ask [MENTION=78705]jangoforhire[/MENTION] what multiple expensive switches will get you. He's the switch whore around here!

True story, I've probably spend close to, if not more than the full cost of the wired HDH panel with all the switches and panels that i've bought. I think I'm OTRATTW's favorite customer.
 
Duc, do you have any pics of it?
What do you think of it?
Are the benefits worth the price?
Any cons, that make the standard switches better?
