Xenon Hi/Lo HID 6000k install

Thank you guys...Im currently at work, so as soon as I get home I will work on that.....also the flickering lamp only does it when I anable or disable the keyless. Once the Truck is on, they do not flicker, so I guess my best bet would be to disable the DLR's...

I will try that and see what happens...I will also get some pictures up soon...

my install took about 30 min, but i wasnt able to really cover the headlight unit with the rubber, i left the rubber off it wasnt working no matter how i tried, so im just worried about water getting in there during rain but it looks nice

Good news...the problem is solved Thanks Rock Slide, I unplugged the DLR plug by the battery....problem is gone....DLR was making the HID's to flicker...dont know why, but they are working fine now....now I need to adjust the head lights, I noticed the passanger side one is a bit higher than the driver side one.....any suggestions on how to adjust them......

Every camera is different, it's hard to tell about the glare from a picture...

yea i guess your right. i want HIDs i'd just be to lazy to do a retro-fit so i guess i'll stay with my regular H4 bulbs for now.

Yeah I know....it was too bright since the street light is right over the truck, I will try to get better ones on a darker spot......but I am very pleased with the change.....its a huge difference.

You don't have to do a retrofit....

You don't have to make a thread and announce that you have them, you can keep it a secret you know. They really aren't hard to install. It takes about 10 minutes on each headlight, and the only difficult thing is mounting the ballast.

I don't care for "plug-n-play" HID kits, but it's your vehicle...put what you want into it . Don't worry, I'm not going to be one of the guys flaming you if you decide to got with a PnP HID kit. You already know where I stand.

IMO a retro-fit is the only way to go. Reason being, I want the sharp cut off line and wide light spread that only projectors can provide. Granted it can be a tad expensive and somewhat difficult to do a complete HID retro-fit, but the results are amazing.

There are 2 places to make adjustments on each headlight. Standing in front of your vehicle on the passenger side, one adjustment is located at the top right of the headlight. This adjustment moves the light up and down. Open your hood, and look at the top right of the passenger side headlight. Look specifically at the large piece of black plastic which mounts your headlight to the sheet metal frame. There will be a small hole at the top of this piece of plastic. Inside it contains a plastic disc with teeth that you can rotate with a flat head screwdriver. This will move the light up and down. (I don't have any pictures of this adjustment. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll snap a pic of it.)

The other adjustment is located at the bottom left of the headlight. To access it, open your hood, and look at the back of the headlight from inside the engine bay. You should find a large plastic nut screwed onto a metal rod. You can make your side to side adjustments here.

Actually, it can be much cheaper than you think. After I'm all said and done with my retro, the total bill should be under the $300 mark...If I'm lucky, closer to $250. That's even with using a pair of FX projectors, TSX clear lenses (with color mod), oem Hella Ballasts & 35wt 4300K Phillip D2S 85122+ bulbs.

I purchased a pair of used oem '01 headlights that I installed in my truck to act as "donor" lights so I could mod my original headlights. (Work's killing me at the moment, so I really only have weekends to work on this project. Having donor lights installed, makes this mod much easier for me.) When the retro is finished, I will sell the extra pair of headlights. I also will sell the stock FX lenses and stock TSX projectors since I need neither of those. Depending how much I get for all the unneeded parts will be the deciding factor if I can bring the grand total down to around the $250 mark for the final bill. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Rock I adjusted the lights as much as I could.....I noticed the Platic Nut to adjust the driver side headlight is missing...so I have to find a nut that will fit it so I can finish adjusting it....but other than that...Im all set....

I know I might get burnned with this question....but has anyone used those "projector headlights"...would there work better with HID's than the stock ones.....??

What do the lenses and tsx projectors look like and how much are you selling them for?

The FX lenses are the "clear" version and are in great shape. I had planned to put them on ebay in about a week or so. Probably in the $30 - $40 range.

My TSX projector housings are in great shape as well. They are currently for sale on ebay. Auction ends this Saturday. Item # 290220463781. Here's the link too:
