[MENTION=80047]bofa[/MENTION] - Yes, the 5000k kit will best match the XD LEDs, but as [MENTION=149995]AFastOne[/MENTION] mentioned above, I'm really a fan of the 4300k color temperature in the 4runner projectors. You get a slightly bluish tone (depending on the angle) as a result of the OE projector, without needing to go with a higher kelvin bulb for color -- at the expense of light output.

Of course you are.
Does that mean the 5k bulb has even more blue in these projectors? Once the philips bulb burns in, is it closer to the XD LEDs?
I just want to avoid a "whiter" light detracting from the projected light.

Go with the 4300k. The more "natural" color output helps illuminate the road better in my opinion, and will get you the most OEM appearance/functionality.

That was the original plan, but i shifted with the decision to add LED high and fogs. Wish you had 4300k LEDs.
Edit: im not opposed to running HID in the fogs too but need to research that more. Edit 2: never mind.. Dont want melted fog housings.
Do you (or anyone else here) have pics of the 4300k HIDs and 5700k XD LEDs?

bofa: I would not recommend upgrading your stock H16 halogen bulbs to HID for a couple of reasons:
(1) As you mentioned (but for the benefit of anyone else reading this thread), the stock halogen bulb is a low wattage bulb. A 35W HID kit will run significantly hotter then this bulb, which may end up damaging the housings.
(2) HIDs in fogs are bright -- probably too bright if you're planning on keeping them on during regular driving.
I don't have any pictures comparing 4300k lows and Xtreme LEDs in the fogs. However, take a look at these pictures of a Honda Pilot (also H11 projector) with our H11 4300k Philips bulbs installed:
Pretty good match for the factory LED DRL strip, right?
From 50ish yards away... Do you see the "bluish tone" that I am referring to?

Thanks, that does help. Maybe ill start with the philips bulbs and if it drives me nuts i can just order the 5k bulbs later.

Nice! Curious if the water came back after running the HIDs? I'm planning to have Toyota swap out my headlight again, and debating on trying the HIDs one more time or sticking with halogen... Also curious what you did to seal it up better? I've tried swapping the bulbs between the two different sides but the water keeps coming back to the driver's side.
I made one 45 min minute drive with the new HID's.....the output is fantastic....I did get flashed three times by on coming cars.....I think that the light gets into cars because they are sitting at the 4runner headlight level....
...I did see more moisture in both lights....I was pretty disappointed....there was lots of it.
The rubber grommet for the Philips HID's fit the hole in the dust cover perfectly....a little tight to get in but I would say that it was a perfect fit.....I'm willing to bet the farm on a tight seal on both covers.
so I ordered two new dust covers...I'm going to install the original halogens and the new dust covers and see if the moisture goes away.
I upgraded almost immediately to LED lights so I don't know if the moisture would have been there initially....
I put up a photo of the seal on the headlights and it looks like maybe some gasket adhesive is missing...

No canbus and you don't need to use the battery harness when you receive the kit either.
