Yet another Replacing head unit question

Well, I've got almost everything to replace my head unit, new head unit, New dash surround, Controller (crossover/equalizer), Front door speakers (I'm not going to use the dash speakers), Rear door speakers, Amp, Subs to go in lift-gate, Adapters for steering wheel and to override parking interlock, Wire for power and speakers, Sound deadening, etc, etc, etc

I need to run the low voltage preamp outputs (RCA connectors) from the head unit to the controller and then from there to the amp. That's 3 pairs of signals times 2.

Question, Am I better with 3 separate coax pairs, a quad (mains) plus double for the sub or the mythical/magical hex cable for each run (head unit to controller and controller to amp?
