Wow, 6k is a lot! I dont have any bad stories like that. But I do have a few good trade in stories. When I traded in an 06 Tacoma for an 08 Tundra I was given $500 over KBB. I cant remember the specifics of my 08 Tundra trade in for my 2010 4R because the 08 Tundra had quite a few additions (ProComp 6" lift, wheels, tires, Magnaflow exhaust and Volant CAI - all dealer purchased, but not installed), but I got a fair deal. I should note that all three vehicles were purchased and traded in at the same dealer (Rick Hendrick Toyota in Fayetteville, NC). I have a good relationship with a few sales guys and the services/parts dept there.
I would like to go home and talk to a few dealers to see what they will value the truck at. Thats my next step. I should be getting home from Iraq in the next 4-6 weeks. Then again, I may in Iraq next year for a bit, so I could just wait for the 2012's...or the v8! :naughty:
