You think these are bad? (ball joints)

I have been getting a clunking noise when going over bumps at low speed... When taking these picks I noticed the oily substance on the joint.. :-(
I just attempted ball joints on my kids jetta last weekend and it's going into my VW specialist Friday to finish the job because that thing is a pain in the ass to work on...
