your opinion on gears

4runner has factory 4.10s with a 265-75-16 i went to a 285-75-16 with 3in lift.
would a 4.30 help much or is it gonna be a waste of time . 4.56s are the other option but a bunch more $ so i guess the question is what gears would you all recomend with 285s, lots of highway during the week, lots of offroad /camping hunting during the weekends

You say you currently have 4.10 gearing. You also mention that you do a lot of highway and offroad usage.

I wouldn't even spend the money for 4.30's, you'll have buyer's remorse. Go with the 4.56's and never look back. They are a great gearing ratio to couple with 33's on these trucks.

4.88's will be a little torquey, and have you sitting at higher RPMs on the interstate for 33's. For 35's, I would suggest 4.88's.
