When I installed my new radiator/timing belt I used 3 gallons of Toyota red 50/50. And had about a quart left. Ran me about 70-80$ but I ain't putting anything but Toyota red after my head gasket went.

I think this stuff is the most like the Toyota Red. You can compare the MSDS. You can see that it has the "hydrated inorganic acid" just like the Toyota. It's undiluted and costs $12.99 regularly. Right now it's on sale for $9.

Sorry, I have to disagree. The fact that the label states the NAPA formula is "phosphate-free" means that its anti-corrosion technology is different than both the Toyota Red and and Toyota Pink, both of which rely on phosphates in their anti-corrosion package. Zerex Asian is a clone of Toyota Pink. Both Toyota Pink and Zerex Asian are p-HOAT's, phosphated Hybrid Organic Acid Technology. Toyota has a TSB stating that the Pink can be used to top up or mix with the Red, so I am more comfortable saying that that applies to Zerex Asian as well.

The risk in mixing coolants is that the anti-corrosion packages will be antagonistic. Therefore it is better to stick to technologies you know are the same, or, at least compatible.

I don't see in any of the MSDS's where phosphates are present, nor do I see on any of the labels where it says "Phosphate-free". I don't have any of the products directly in front of me so I can't know for sure.

However, if you look at the MSDS for the NAPA (not extended life) antifreeze (NAF 1GAL as opposed to NAF 1EXT), it clearly has 1-2% phosphates. (see here)

So I would think that if phosphates were present, the MSDS would clearly say so.
