Heinous hefty fabworks fab time

^ get that canuck a safety pin!

Too late we got lose ordnance in the produce aisle again!! :whipping2:ak472::eek:

Im all for small vendors, but shit if all you can do is run a welder, get a ****ing book from the library on how to treat the customers correctly to!

I don't get why some of you try and justify crappy business dealings even if the end product is worth it. The fact is they charge money up front and do not ship for months. All that time they have used your money to pay off their own debt and or collect interest on your payment. ITs highly irregular, at most take a security deposit. However the real point should be just post actual build times whatever they may be and stick to them.

I would rather hear 8 months and have it arrive in 8months than a bag of lies and excuses on how 4 weeks turned into 8 months. The other fact is with them taking all your money up front, what the hell happens if they go bust or close up shop? Your screwed at that point as I don't think you can even do a charge back with visa due to lengthy time period.

There is no security for a customer under this kind of transaction method. I would avoid it just for these reasons....good product or not.

if their lead times posted were the actual lead times. They would lose a lot of business. Not everyone can wait 3 months for rock sliders.

Quality of the sliders is good. And i know some people will say i'm whining because these are rock sliders.

But i paid for powder coat. I would expect it to be decently protected and arrive untarnished. I have heavy scuff marks all around, and a deep scratch.

It was loosely bound by plastic straps to the skid. Yes rock sliders are meant to get dinged up. But new sliders should not arrive dinged up. Waiting to hear back from them.

Very very peeved in that my skids were not shipped. 4-8 week lead to delivery. end of week 13 in 2 days. Would have gladly paid a bit more and went elsewhere for it, and probably have them installed months ago.

My rear bumper arrived last friday @ 22.5 weeks on advertised 14-16 week lead time. I will submit a final followup post after it is installed (should be monday or tuesday) with all of my thoughts and concerns during this process while trying to be as honest and open-minded as possible. I haven't had any time to look at the bumper yet, and hope it is unscathed.

Glad you got the bumper OP. There are so many brand-fan boys on the web its hard to vent without being attacked, but I feel for ya.

I ordered my CBI rear 8 weeks ago, they are about 2 weeks late now on the quote but contact has been great so its not irritating me to death.

So, honestly I have been in the market for bumper, skids and sliders. Its hard to parse through a lot of the nonsense on here because of the vested interests that each have. It is insane to have a product go that far over set time and not have some kind of communication as to why. I ran a business for years... if i missed the mark that bad, you better believe that customer did not pay full price! Sometimes it wasnt my fault.. but my suppliers. i STILL eat the pain because i promised to sell X product for Y amount of money by Z time. PERIOD.

For a business owner to say on Facebook that they stay away from forums because they graduated high school... thats freakin laughable and is enough for me to not put my hard earned money into their hands. I dont care how great the quality is. They obviously do not value me, my money or my time. How many Group Buys are on here? Other vendors do just fine. If his medium is facebook... he can have it.. but not my business.

To the OP.. I am sorry this was such a cluster and the fan-boys are just that. I hope the product is up to your standards for the amount of your investment and time. I thank you for airing your grievances on this FORUM.. because it and the others experiences have saved me from having to go thru the same thing(or maybe not.. but I am not going to take that chance, with them).

hoping to hear back about my skids that haven't shipped yet..

They can't bother to reply?

Also ordered myself some grade 10.9 hardware to replace the grade 8.8 that they supplied with the sliders. metric 8.8 is the same as sae grade 5?

never used sae grade 5 anything or equivalent in my vehicles before.

Ready to buy a rear bumper. After this thread and Hefty's FB post, they won't be getting my money. Going to go with CBI instead.

went to pickup my freight today. at fedex

had a freak out moment. because sliders had some missing powder coat on them already due to poor packing onto skid.

that and my entire set of aluminum skids with 6-8 week lead time to ship. (ordered 4/6/2017) was missing. called hefty, and found out that they were NEVER SHIPPED, and that they are being shipped separately.

Good going? Luckily i went to fedex when they were still opened, otherwise i would have rejected the freight.

so i finally have my sliders with the 8-10 week leadtime after 13.5 weeks.

But no skids. Fedex delivery manager indicates no such shipment yet. So the wait continues.

Really dropped the ball, by not informing a customer about whats arriving, and whats not arriving. Skids are now 5-7 weeks overdue now. No explanation anywhere along the lines.

Also know why shipping is so expensive now.. They don't like to ship things together.

Not trying to rub it in, but hopefully to give people some realization that your experience doesn't have to be acceptable.

As I mentioned earlier, with my Budbuilt's I was quoted a build time of two weeks. They arrived in less than two weeks from ordering (granted in a state away - but still)

Also - the quality, finish, and packaging was excellent. They weren't my top choice, but they were my top choice when I factored in lead times and customer service of other places. The packaging was truly unbelievable. Couldn't have imagined a better process.

For the same reason - before ordering my SSO bumper I also emailed them about their packaging process as I was ordering a coated bumper. They gave great detail, and responded within 24 hrs.

hefty read my facebook message, and never bothered to reply about where my skid plates are, or why they are running so late. or about the poor packaging that lead to missing powder coating. Found a few more spots after i got home and inspected them more.

good build quality, but where the f*** is the customer service. They obviously can't use the excuse of being too busy getting items to customers to reply. Because the customers don't have the damn items even though they are 6 weeks past leadtime.

Last month I e-mailed Hefty to find out the weight of the sliders and if the 8-10 week lead time shown on the site was accurate/up to date. I got a response back in less than a few business hours with an answer and confirmation that lead times are accurate.

It's unfortunate that as a potential paying customer I got a response almost immediately, but the paid customers are having a tough time getting a response. Also it doesn't seem I was given a truthful answer on the lead time based on members' results. I was just about to order the Hefty sliders until I came across this thread. I decided to go with C4 sliders instead. I don't expect Hefty will ever see this or care that they lost a sale (and likely many others) because they graduated high school already :thumb:

Prinsu posted a pic on IG a few days ago and more than one person asked them why they had time to post to IG and not write/call them back...

i got my sliders after 13.5 weeks. so yes lead time is off. ordered 4/6/2017, ready to pickup from freight terminal 7/10/2017 . No customization done, just everything as ordered. still very peeved that the skid plates, 6-8 weeks. has not shipped and they have not gotten back to me why they have not shipped.

Any update? Wondering if you received any communication.

they emailed me yesterday with tracking number for my skids. they didn't send any other form of communications or replies to my inquiry on why its so late. I hope they have the address right, because the email shows the freight terminals address, when the skids should be shipped direct to me.

Finally got the bumper installed. Here is what I know. Since my order was placed via my offroad shop I was only required to put $1000.00 down. There was some miscommunication somewhere on add-on specifics which contributed to time extension. There were some emails that were not returned as well as phone calls over the fab time. There were also some that were returned. Would i have liked better customer service, yes. Do I think hefty went out of their way to cause frustration, no. The total time was 22.5 weeks to arrival at my shop from when order was placed. Was I offered discount for time extension, no, i did not ask either. I am not sure if i would have placed order with accurate lead time. Bumper showed up with scratches and some powder coat missing from an area that would be hard to believe was from a scratch. Order was also missing high lift mount and was offered free replacement/order upon confirmation. I am however pleased with quality of design and welds. Overall considering all circumstances I do not believe i would do this again. I hope some consider that no character assassination was ever intended but I was merely asking for feedback. I do think hefty makes a great product and has room to improve just like any one of us. I do not believe any lack of ethics was intentional or without reason.

Cheers,
David

i'm going to get my skids from a fedex kinkos location. I am nearly positive.. that they might have forgot to put my name on it or put down the wrong address originally... Because fedex never sent me notifications which i get because i'm signed up for fedex delivery manager. Will find out tomorrow.

Super Fast!

I ordered my Heftyfabs sliders on 11/27, and they shipped on 12/20...arrived on 12-27. They beat their leadtime by 4-weeks. They look great and arrived pristine. No complaints here.

I also had a very good experience with Hefty Fabworks. I ordered a set of sliders on 21 November, and they were shipped on 12 December. About a week after I ordered them I had not heard anything so I sent an email just to make sure they had received my order and I received a response the same day.

EDIT: Arrived at my local FedEx facility in a few days and after numerous coats of primer and paint they bolted right up. I do wish my paint job was tougher, but that's a rattle can for you.

Ordered my bumpers back in June. Still waiting for them. I've had to chase down every communication with Hefty that I've had. Starting to get super frustrated. Will probably give them to the end of this week before I ask for a refund and go somewhere else.

That is a lot of $$ to just have hanging out there. Did they require payment in full in advance??
