Heinous hefty fabworks fab time

Anybody experience this or have any advice? Im at 21.5 weeks on a rear bumper with an advertised 14-16 lead time. I was told bumper would ship last monday and be emailed shipping info, called today and got no confirmation of shipping nor a promised return phone call. Mind you I placed this order january 30, was never contacted with updates or notification of time extensions. I'm frustrated to say the least...

Honestly, I was about to order an aluminum with swingout bumper last week and was told 16-18 weeks. That is insane and 21.5 is even worse!

I wish they could speed up because I REALLY want the bumper. Just don't want to wait 5 months for it.

I've tried to bite my tongue but can't any longer. I understand delays happen but feel communication is necessary around it. I placed the order january 30 thinking it would be nice to have a spare holder and rear lift point for a july 4th trip to moab

I have purchased many items and spend a considerable amount of money with Chris and your are in good hands. I have been at his shop several times and have spent afternoons with these folks and they are good people and do incredibly good work. Yes, lead times can be long but most fab companies are like that now.

In short you are in good hands.

Ive heard the same, which is why i initially purchased. Just a little frustrated with customer service

Yea, ditto, Chris and the Hefty family are good people. They may be slow at time communicating cause Chris, his dad, his brother are in the shop making their products. They have 5 fabricators...5. That's it. Takes time to make crates, pallets, packing, shipping, accounting, taking orders, checking emails...

Anyways, I have felt your pain before. I waited 6 months for front and rear bumpers, but its definitely worth it! Hang in there!

I know they have A LOT of work right now. You will get your product and will be very pleased. Heck, GOBI's lead time have been even longer from what I am hearing.

I am lucky in that they are local so I got to meet them personally on several occasions so I never worried about production times. Again, lead times for more complex items are pretty long everywhere.

If the promised date has long passed and there is no communication - then you are not in good hands. Get your money back.

In the end its clearly your choice. You can believe folks who have met and purchased from these people or take the inevitable knee-jerk comments from others that have no clue.

Again, long lead times do suck but don't feel like they are screwing your over as they are not.

If businesses set a delivery deadline then they should meet it. It is no different in any other business or contract. I don't care if they are good people or not, business is business. Now, if they can't meet the deadline, they should communicate that with their prospective clients, and go from there. It's not that hard.

Seriously - being ignored - calls not returned - promises broken is a knee jerk reaction? Are these folks the Orange box fab folks with a new name? You must be on the marketing team.

No they are not Orange box. You KNOW nothing about me nor do I wish to know anything about you. :painkiller:

OUT!

I don't think anyone meant to say they are bad people. They seem very nice and professional in my experience, I just cannot see waiting dang near half a year for a bumper!

I'm all talk, though. I will likely order the bumper and drool over online images until it shows..

I ordered Sliders from All-Pro and was given a 15 day lead.........6 days later they were on my porch in California. Free Shipping from Montana! Better to overestimate time and do it quicker!:whoo:

same with white knuckle offroad, and RCI, both companies beat their own lead times, so not all "fab" shops have horrible communications and lead times.

That's unfortunate. I really want to order their rear bumper, but the idea of forking out close to 2k for something you may not see for 6 months or more is ludicrous, especially when the promised delivery times are less. GOBI has horrendous lead times but at least they don't charge your card until your rack goes into fab.

SSO and C4Fab also seem to meet their promised delivery window. And for people in the C4 group buy who have their items given less priority than regular orders still get regular updates on the thread from the owner regarding the status of their items.

Any business that fails to communicate with paying customers will not be in business long. It doesn't take long to return a call, email or come through on things promised. All businesses have issues from time to time and people are understanding for the most part if told the truth and kept in the loop. If rpontbriand is so confident in this company perhaps he can intervene in the OP's behalf and help him out.

ordered aluminum skids, and the rock slider..
tomorrow marks the beginning of week 13

skids were 6-8 weeks leadtime to delivery

slider was 8-10 weeks leadtime to delivery.

You are not the only one.

They told me it would be shipping this week. I'll know tomorrow, tried to contact them via facebook chat today, with no reply yet

The backbone of my confidence:
