ya, I just stopped kidding myself and came to the realization that I will
customize anything I own.

edit: Oh, and my wife came to the same realization, and stopped getting
mad at the upgrades, she happy that it makes my happy.

We have the 16x8s in both 4" and 4.5" Backspacing. Most people with a 2.5-3" lift will run a 285/75R16 which will clear the UCA with either back space option.
 
Back space, and off set is one and the same, like half a dozen or six. Ultimately, 8" wheel you need minimum 12mm offset aka 4.5" back space, 9"wheel 00mm offset 5" back space.

With 8"wide wheels and a 4.5" bs or 12mm off set you will be Ok with larger tires.
 
Here is some I picked up at discount tire. Can't remember how much I want to say it was in the 100's per wheel

Can someone tell me how much backspacing on a17 inch wheel I need if I want to run 285s with no spacers, I currently have the day star 2.5/1.5

Thanks man. I've done a few things to it...nothing major. The most $$$ being the suspension/tires of course. I really want a full roof rack but trying to convince myself otherwise. Ha. The tires are 285/70/17s.

Did you have to run spacers, and what all did you do to have no rubbing
 
I don't think I've ever seen a link that someone has put on here to Discount Tire that's worked, ever. No idea why they seem to kill em all on purpose...

It's the same backspacing as the wheel that I'm currently running without spacers. I'm also running very close to that same tire size (285/70/17). The wheel you picked is just a half inch narrower than mine overall, so you should actually have a bit more clearance (1/4 inch or so) than I do between the tire and UCA.
