2 many broke runners build

With the help of my son rylan and buddy Eric got the truck moved to the other side of the shop.
Started removing the body lift. Custom made from previous owner

Got some of the frame cleaned up a bit more. Those ifs brackets suck to remove. Left big holes in the motor mount area.

A piece of 3/16 plate fills it nicely

Welds to the frame were great. Ones on top to the bracket sucked

Other side finished up nicely

Mocked my steering box up again. Flexed it to make sure spring don't hit anything.







Drilled holes for the box. Going to plate frame next time and bolt the box up.
 
Got the holes drilled for the frame tubes. 3/4 drill bit with big drill will twist out of your hands quick.

Had to trim the front edge and bottom of the plate from TG.

Tacked the tubes in place. Then welded the plates to the frame.



Meanwhile my buddy eric cut the front crossmember out for a receiver hitch.

Finished up gearbox install.

Also plated front crossmember with 1/8 inch steel.

Thanks for sharing the box mounting pics. Looks like I will be trimming my TG mount too :(. I'm mounting mine in the same spot on my '87
 
Got the front x member plate welded today.



Also cut the tunnel out some

And started on my homemade x crossmember


Will go up a bit higher just need to clearance the sheet metal a bit more.
 
Well I got the transfer case crossmember about done.
Got it mocked up first, not going full flat belly this time.

Next plated the frame for the mounts.

Made some mounts out of a piece of channel cut in half.

Than tacked it all in place


Than welded the plate back together

Still need to grind it down and add to the front for a crawl box mount.
 
Painted the axle and got the knuckles freshened up and axles and diff installed.

Also installed for last time I hope.

Got the frame mounts welded up


Also added some gussets
 
Thanks Hyde. Got some stuff done yesterday had to cut the day little short to do a side job.

Here's a couple of the t case mount.






Cut the tunnel out little more


Cleaned up some frame rust for more plates


Plasma out some plate 11gauge I think








All to mount a new horse collar crossmember to
 
After a lot of trimming at funny angles in the band saw.



I got the pieces for the new horse collar crossmember tacked in place



Than measured the the center piece and welded it together and to the plates. It's not perfect but it warped a bit while welding out of the truck.




 
Been busy havent updated this in while so to catch up
I tried to shorten my rear driveshaft with some sch 40.


turned out very out of round
so i bought a new peice of pipe turned out to be sch 80 not 40



Cut the spare tire crossmember out for placement of the gas tank



welded my old 2x3 box tube bumper on the back of the frame rails



cut a small hole for the gas tank to peek through



Plasma made quick work of this hole



ALso trimmed these down for my taco rotor swap



made some brackets for the gas tank to mount to



gas tank is secure





just need to hook it all back up build a box for it to isolate it from passenger compartment.
 
Well found out the hard way that my taco calipers don't it allied bead locks.


They grey color is were I still need to grind the caliper
 
got the wheels on finally



Made a neat air filter adapter for the maf









not shown in pics i built a mount to hold the thing up very heavy
Also worked alot on the brake lines fuel lines and extending the fuel pump wiring.

got all the fluid topped off and backed her out finally







I didnt get to far off the road but she will flex a ton more.
