2014 Entune problems

My 2014 TE and my Iphone 4s had the problem of connecting and disconnecting every few seconds also after a month of working fine. I deleted the bluetooth connection from the phone and vehicle, and then paired them again. No good. I turned off my phone and then turned it back on. Bingo it worked.

goes to show no one did a search on the forums. there is a 3.1 & 3.2 update thread where you can do this yourself.

Got a call from Entune customer support today asking me about the 2014 entune. I told her the problems I was experiencing with iOS 7 and verizon with intermittent Bluetooth connectivity. She said it's a known problem and are trying to fix it. They said they would send me an email when the update is ready. Whether I believe that or not is a different story but at least they are aware.

If you look in your manual, there is an entune support number. I would suggest everyone call and complain. It would get more developers updating the firmware.

Post the number here, please.

I'm having the issue of connecting my iphone 4 and it automatically plays goes to and play ipod. This is very irritating, whiling driving down the road listening to new or talk radio and realizing I'm needing to charge the phone... connect, bang, ipod.

Also I'm not getting the connectivity of internet from my iphone.

I haven't checked lately but I'm sure I have a much older version of entune, 1.74.

Thanks for pointing out the number is in the manual!!

Just updated my unit from 1.8 to 3.2... still having issues with Bluetooth internet connection but internet via USB is fine.

It added iHeartRadio, which is a nice feature.

Also notice that there is more voice control for the apps.

I haven't tested the voice commands on the Map but I hope that it's better. When saying "Destination, 1515 Pennsylvania Ave, Woodland Park Colorado" then the map say, "State: Pennsylvania" or "City: Woodland, State: Park Unknown" was a little frustrating. I'm confident it is better! :-)

for those that get the following error : via Tacoma World

Stock Verizon Users, this feature is locked unless you have a tethering subscripton.

I found the answer for this wonderfully undocumented "ERROR"!
First of all, the message is actually sent even though you see the "ERROR"!
Check your phone!
Second, You can fix the problem (at least on Android/Galaxy Phones)!

1) From the Home Screen, pull down the "SETTINGS" menu.
2) Tap the "More settings" bar.
3) Tap the "Tethering" bar.
4) Place a check mark in the "Bluetooth tethering" box.
5) Exit back out of all menus.

Voila! Quick Text Messaging now works as it should! No Error!
This setting is OFF by default on most Android devices.

Toyota should have included these directions in the setup screens for pairing, but sadly, they failed to provide the information.

Yeah the 2014 Entune system is a lot different than the 2014 IIRC. I already tried updating through a USB and it doesn't work that way. It's all done through your phone or the dealer is able to update it. Either way, the Verizon issue has not been fixed yet.

i take it you have the HDD version. that update only works if you have the NON HDD headunit version.

if you have a 2014 LE the HDD version is standard.

Yes, I am pretty sure the HDD version is pretty much standard on 2014. Either way, it was on my trail when I got it.

RADIO not working- 2014 4Runner

December: Bought 2014 4Runner. iPhone use to "conned" and then "disconnect" off and on. Flash forward:April; radio now does not work at ALL! The "Toyota" logo just stays on the screen. Then goes black. Then logo re-appears. Took it in. "we checked it out, there is nothing wrong, and the radio worked fine when we drove it..." The car is equipped with Sirius. Could that be the problem? Thanks!

I have had my 14 TE for about a month. It has HD on the head unit. Every now and then the unit does a reboot. Need to take it in to the dealer. On the other Entune equipped toyota's you can access the phone address book for Navigation. Apparently this is not available on the 4Runner unless I am missing something in the setup.

I just encountered my first problems with my 2014 TE Entune system.

It would just randomly shut down and reboot. Happened 3 times on my recent trip to the beach. I am taking it to the dealer to have it looked at Friday.

I have a 2014 LE - I've also had the reboot issue. I'm taking mine in for service on Friday. If anyone has any updates on this issue, please post.

Additional symptoms: Also, I've noticed that over time - my system seems to reconnect to my phone, slower and slower, but after the reboot, the phone connects very quickly. So then, at this point, my guess is that the software has a memory leak that requires some type of hard reboot that restarting the car doesn't give it.. ?

I'll post when I get more info.

I am having the same entune restart issue on my 2014 limited. I brought it in for the 10,000 mile service today and they say there is no tickets in the system for this issue. They said to take a picture of it. I wish I could show them this thread as proof I am not full of it.

Just curious guys, have this started happening right off the bat or after a certain mileage?

I'm not noticing anything (yet) but I have a 2014 so wondering if it's something I should look out for. I don't know if it matters, but my car's build date was 04/14.

I don't think the mileage matters. Ours restarted once before the 5000 mile tune up and 3 times on our trip to Yellowstone. Our 4runner is about 6 months old.

well on my 2014 I have yet to have the head unit reboot or anything. but then again I only use the Bluetooth, Pandora, cellphone/texting functions.

the nav feature I hardly use as my garmin does a better job x100.

and if I am on trips, the warden takes care of the rest on her cellphone for me.

I was using the GPS in my '14 LE yesterday for the first time at night. The map stayed in day mode and was almost impossible to look at. I got out the trusty Navigation Manual when I got home. On page 40 I followed the directions to see if day mode was set to "on". I don't even have a day mode selection on my Nav unit. Am I missing something? Further more, on page 250 is a list of options you can enable. I only have option 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7. I don't have the option to scroll down to the second screen capture for those set of options. Is there something I need to enable to view all options? I went to do a software update and it said there were not available. Anyone else with a '14 LE having this problem?
