2014 Entune problems

Not happy to hear of all the problems with Entune, but I am wondering if they have finally fixed it? My 2015 TE (Canadian) has exhibited no problems at all so far. No freezing or re-booting, and it pairs faultlessly with my iPhone 4S (what a treat, compared to what was dealing with in the past!)
Not real happy with the Navigation, but that is because the map software doesn't have on it the roads I use (old logging roads / bush trails etc. I have to use my iPad for that, and it blocks much of the dash when I use it. I wish they would just give us a plug in tablet module, and forget the built in radio/nav. screen. After all, many of us now have tablets, and they are so much more versatile than any car audio/nav. system.

No issues here

I just finished a 1600 mile round trip from Houston to El Paso and back with no issues at all. I was wanting an issue to arise so I could swap out the factory radio to an aftermarket with out the wife complaining. I have used both an Iphone 5 and now a 6 with no issues.

6500 miles.... just had a reboot problem. happened onceafew nights ago, but i was a minute away from home. Yesterday, driving around.... it rebooted 6 times... 3 in a row... ugh!!!

I just bought a 2014 SR5 model with Nav. So far no reboots :knockonwood:

But the problem I'm having is with Pandora. It is displaying completely different songs than what is playing on the phone? It won't sync the songs on the phone to the screen, and for some reason the screen is just showing random songs?

Any help here would be appreciated.

Well after figuring out the error message, I open up my phone and then open the entune app, then I open the pandora app.

Am I just supposed to open the entune app?

Well, there's two ways to play pandora on your head unit. One way is thru the Entune app on your phone but you have to register your pandora account with the Entune app first.

The other way is to just use the pandora app on your phone and establish a Bluetooth audio connection to the head unit.

You get a few more features on the head unit if you use the Entune app though.

Hmmmm....not sure. Maybe try deleting the connections and reestablishing. I'll send you a PM too.

I have had connectivity problem before.. and with full coverage. I believe it lies within the ENTUNE app. I usually disconnect BT and reconnect fine.. sometimes it take 10-15 min to reset itself...

That being said, if you have Pandora playing on the headunit.. and open any audio app on your phone, It will play that audio over BT... and Pandora will still show on HU. Its wierd, I have done this several times with playing songs on my phone... Better sound quality and volume than using the "Audio App" of using the BT audio from phone. Just another weird querk that ENTUNE has....

I have tried to update my ENTUNE.. to no avail. UGH! I guess I will have to go to the Dealer for the update. Although, I have not experienced any problem since the other day of reboots.. so we shall see.. fvckin Toyota. I am going to hit my BIL up(he works for ToyotaUSA) and see what the hell is happening down there.

2014 4Runner Entune Reboots Randomly

Have had the problem for several months now. Started after the runner was about 4 months old and have not figured out how to fix it. Dealer reset the car but still does it.

Saw another post that says it does it only when your phone is connected and you receive a text. Looking to test that out.

I also pull my phone out and take VIDEO when it does it to prove what is happening. It takes a long time to reboot, far longer than when you start the car.

Add me to the list

Just began with the GPS/stereo reboot issues. So far it has only happened at night while I was playing the iPod on the AUX and was on the home screen. I was not navigating with the GPS and I wasn't receiving any texts on my phone. In one episode, it rebooted three times within 8 miles.

I will try some of the ideas on this thread and report back with any resolution.

Have 2014 Trail with 8,000 on the odo. Hasn't seen any tough off road yet.

Galaxy S5 "Contacts Transfer Unsuccessful" error message

2014 SR5 21k mi. Hi anyone having this issue? I have the most recent entune software update. Everytime the head unit starts up, the contacts transfer makes it to 100 or so then bugs out. I've tried unpairing/repairing after changing what contacts should be available to sync, but everytime it bugs out. I do have a lot of contacts with a lot of info stored on them, but it used to sync totally fine. Randomly stopped working a few months ago, not relative to a software update on phone or entune. Any advice on how to get this resolved? Thank you

simple solution, lower your text history limit to 50 or 100 on single texts and about 20 on multi media texts. have the same issue on my 2014 4runner and it happened on the daughters 2014 rav4. once I told her to delete her 500+ texts, it works just fine now.

I was having the problem come up every moth or so. I would delete the phone from Entune and vice versa. Then reconnect, all would be fine. I got sick of this so I got an update from the dealer at my 1 yr service. All was working better, but now it reboots when I get a text. Just lowered my limit as NoDak suggested. We'll see....

Thanks man! Deleting texts right now hopefully it works

I have also tried deleting all the text messages and yes, I was able to see any new incoming texts and the system seemed to work fine .... until I got an MMS. Started getting the same "could not transfer messages" error again. So it seems, at least in my case, MMS is the problem rather than the total number of messages. Deleting MMS did the trick. I am not even going to try and get email working on this thing.

Will complain to the dealer. Doubt I will get anything out of them to solve this though.

that's odd, I have mms and don't have that issue. but then again I don't have any friends so that works out to my advantage being an a$$hole.

:)
