for those searching, I can say this is not true. I put some LED's in the rear of my 2017 after reading through this thread and they most certainly hyper flash. Not keen on hacking up the wiring of a truck with 300 miles on it, so I guess I have to go back to the standard bulbs. It is too bad cause the LED's from XenonDepot look awesome.

Hyper flash question - I have the ARB LED upgraded turn signals for my 2012 and have hyper flash. Will the hyperflash go away if I put led bulbs in the rear turn signals on the 14+ tail lights??? Thanks in Advance
doubt it. my 17 hyper flashes with just LED's in the rear.
I would love to hear from the guys who posted that theirs did not hyper flash with LED in the rear. What they did different (brand of bulb, canbus ready, etc.). you know?

I have LED in my rear turn signal sockets (I'm running 2014 tail lights on my 2011), however, they are acting as backup lights with my diode dynamics tail as turn module. No hyper flash though

Update: No more hyper flash! so, last night I was driving home from my son's meet and really admiring how awesome the LED's were at night when I started to notice something.... when I turned right there was no hyper flash; only left hand turns. hmmmm. odd. coincidence or weird difference in the circuits? so when I got home I couldn't stop thinking about it and finally had a thought. LED's are known for polarity issues and I had always read they work or they don't. I experienced this in a previous car with a different brand of bulb and seeing how these actually worked, I was skeptical. Anyhow, I thought that could be the only difference between right and left, so I decided to test my theory. Low and behold, swapping the left bulb 180 degrees in the socket did it! I have not experienced any hyperflash in two trips now in the car. Even sat at a long light with my left hand blinker on the whole time and no issues! Very excited to say the least!
So for those searching or playing along at home, I purchased the Putco 7440 Amber LED bulbs from Xeon Depot and they are fantastic! very bright and super easy to install. I highly recommend them:

Update #2: So the flash is back. :- / apparently sitting in the garage with the key in ACC is not the same as driving the car. Last night went out and at the first left hand light it hyper flashed. <sigh> It still doesn't do the right side though. Which is very odd to me. So I swapped bulbs left to right and no change. Flipped both 180 in the socket and no change. pretty bummed. Guess I will have to go the resistor route at some point. I was really hoping to avoid this, so those of you who have no resistors and no flash I would love to hear what you did.

Unfortunately, those don't work on the 5th Gen 4Runners. The whole flash assembly setup is different. This link has clues to how it's not the same.

I've been running the Lasfit 7443 Ambers with the built in CANBUS error free anti hyper flash resistors for 3 years with ZERO issues. I also have the diode dynamics turn as tail rears with full LED bulbs also. 2 weeks ago I started getting hyper flash ONLY on the driver side bulb. The passenger side bulb works just fine. When I put the hazards on I get no hyper flash at all, only when I put my driver side turn signal on. I purchased new Lasfit 7443 Ambers bulbs thinking the built in resistors finally failed. Even the new bulbs hyper flash (only driver side). I really don't want to splice in resistors so I guess I'll be buying some Morimoto XB LEDs during the next sale.
