I was at that game too, we wanted to catch a game while we were in Vegas last night. Subban looked strong except for that hatty in the second. It was a fun game and TMobile is a gorgeous arena. Missed seeing my Pens there by 2 weeks, but it was still a fun time. Congrats on the new team and beautiful arena. Loved seeing former Pens Engelland and Neal having a good home, and wished I could have seen Fleury play, but hopefully he'll be back by the time they come here in Feb
 
My boy big Buff is out for an unknown time hopefully not long. No goals this season but a handful of assists and of course it’s nice to have his physical presence out on the ice. The last 10 days have not friendly to Winnipeg.


Anybody keep up with college hockey?

I haven’t been to a gophers game since they left the WCHA. Those North Dakota v Gophers games were some of the best hockey out there. And I loved it when they played all the in state schools. I can’t even watch Big ten hockey(that’s a lie I still watch it but it’s just not as good). Oh and I’m a wild fan in hiding. It ain’t looking too good.

I don’t have a favorite college team I’m just a general college hockey fan. Minnesota and North Dakota are two programs I do have a healthy respect for. I have a Golden Gophers hockey shirt in the closet. Should have bought more when we were at the Hockey Minnesota store at the MOA. I respect N.D. but it’s just not the same being the Fighting Hawks too much PC for me but that’s another rabbit trail we won’t go down on the forum.

I agree on the B1G hockey it’s just kind of blah Penn State has a good thing going but I’m still mad at that University as a hole for the whole Jerry Sandusky cover up I can’t even root for them in Hockey. I’d love to take in a game at Yost arena in Ann Arbor that looks like such a cool old barn.

Minnesota has some great college hockey programs that would be a great place to live if you like college hockey.

We have a great club hockey program in town with Central Oklahoma. National Championships 2 out of the last 3 it’s auctually decent hockey to watch. $7 to get in, $2 for beer not a bad seat in the house. OU is ok to go watch too. Not as good of a team $5 to get in and $3 beer you just have to put up with inbreed ou fans the same as any other sport.
 
If you would have told me that the Golden Knights were going to be in first place in the pacific and number 2 in the league at the Christmas break at the beginning of the season, I would have told you put the crack pipe down!

Both the Pens and the Sens have a lot of work to do to get back into it. I had a soft spot for the Sens as I played with one of their former players, Radek Bonk, here in Vegas when he was drafted and signed with the Sens and no it wasn't the IHL, it was a roller league. Another former Sen played here in Vegas for a short time, Alexei Yashin. Both played for the Las Vegas Thunder and between the 2 of them, they had me paying attention to the Sens for awhile. As for the Pens, I'm afraid the Knights took a couple of players from them, mainly the Flower, that might have made things a little difficult for them to make a solid run this year.
 
I think our Knights have a big home advantage. I think the away teams are all hungover or drunk when they are playing us!
 
I know Foley is a West Point grad but wouldn’t Silver Knights have been a better name choice with Nevada being the Silver State? Just something that has wondered through my mind for a few months. It would have still gone with the whole West Point thing to an extent.


Also maybe I shouldn’t question the actions of a guy who built an expansion team into a first place team in the best division in hockey the last couple of years.

The first thought that popped into my head when they said they were going to be called the Golden Knights was the scene from the movie Wild Hogs “ Holly crap it’s the golden knight!” And then I thought wait we’re the Silver State, the Silver Knights would make more sense. Who knows, maybe the grand plan is to move them to the Bay Area later.

Trade for the Raiders?
 
A week off for the Jets would help my anxiety I’m still not believing this is real.

My sons house hockey team has won 2 games so far this season. That is also a major feat at the Christmas break. This Is an amazing hockey season for me so far.

ASG did t seem to be as fun and entertaining as it has been the last couple of years since the new format started. Maybe I would have enjoyed it if the Central would have showed up.

Oh well the jets are in first place in the division and have the 2nd most points in the West. Maybe I ought not complain about the All Star Game
