2017-18 NHL hockey thread

I haven’t seen any ECHL games but hear it’s pretty good hockey. We have a WHL team in town (not doing so well this year) but it’s always a good Nicky watching some junior hockey and future NHL’ers play. Had a chance to see Hart play just before the world juniors and he was unreal in net.

WHL is good hockey I have kept up with it a bit in the past. Somewhere in my closet is a Brandon Wheat Kings puck. We have a junior team here but it’s pretty low level in fact the two college club teams in town have far better hockey than the junior hockey we have here. My mom lives near Amarillo, TX and they have a NAHL team it’s kind of mid level junior. it’s not bad and for $10 you can sit on the glass so we go as much as we can.
Wheat Kings are right in the mix this year, but getting through the teams in their Division will be tough. Pretty amazing what spending a few dollars less on tickets means for seats at various levels. We also have a Jr A team in town and for half the cost or less can watch some really good hockey and a lot of players looking for a full NCAA ride.

I know it's a bit of a tangent since there weren't any current NHL guys playing, but anyone watch the Germany/Russia match? What a game!
And it blows my mind that NBC was showing the bobsled replay while that game was going on live. Thank goodness for CBC and Hockey Night.

It’s looking that way. if I ever get back up there to see my sister again it would be fun to take in a game. I just don’t like the timing of the entry into the league. It might take some good players away from Winnipeg when by then they should be contending for a cup. after all the building they have been doing I don’t want to see them have to leave some good players for the Seattle team to take in the expansion draft.
I do hope they are called the Seattle Sockeyes

With 2-3 games left in the season, where are your favorite teams at? Have they clinched a playoff spot? Are they one of the teams still battling to get in? Or are they unfortunately hoping on the lottery draft?

Seattle deserves a NHL franchise. And the city should get the Sonics (or some form of them) back. " Four for Four" is what we call our sport city here in Philadelphia. Seattle has the passion to support the same type of setup.

Best game of the playoffs so far. Love seeing Flowers perform well. Still burns that we lost him. I would have felt a LOT better had it been to the Seattle expansion team.
