285 70 R17 BFG KO2s With Load Range “C”?

Not to high jack this thread, but I have a set of these tires. Set of 4 for $800. BFG KO2 285/70/17. C load range. Came off a 2018 Wrangler Rubicon JL with only 1200 miles. PM me if interested.

I just bought a full set including spare off a friend with an ‘18 Rubicon...less than 2,000 miles all for $600. I COULD NOT pass that deal. I’ll post pics in a few once I have the lift on and tires mounted.

I just installed my set yesterday. They ride great! Much smoother ride compared to my LT275/70r17 coopers, but I may have to bring the air pressures up (currently at 35psi). So far I'm really happy with them.

What pressure you guys running?

Mine are finally going on Saturday. Pics with Bilsteins at .85 (right now) then some afters at 2.5/1.5 coming soon.

I wish I knew about these before ordering 265s recently. I really want C rated over E rated. Do they also make these in a 275 C?

Tires going on tomorrow with stock wheels. On the fence about pulling the spidertrax spacers. Anyone with these mounted have any thoughts about the stance? I’m going to take a hit on MPGs with the additional lift so I’m wondering if removing my current spacers might help offset some of that loss from wind drag.

No thoughts yet as this is what I am about to do. Let me know how it goes! haha

Pics are the currently mounted P265/70 17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W (love them) vs the 285/70 17 KO2 C.

I decided to wait to mount the tires until Monday when the lift is going on. Looks like it might be a bit tight with the truck at the Bilstein .85 setting. I’m keeping the spacers on for now too. According to the chart, the 285 is less than 3/4” wider than the 265, meaning the tire is still going to be pretty tucked under the wheel well.

Anyone have any front shots to show how far into the wheel well the tire is tucked? I’m using stock wheels.

I found some C load 285s, 5 for $750 with 1,100 miles, zero miles on the spare from a 2018 Jeep Rubicon takeoffs. Rides like my 265s, zero complaints. I do miss my raised white lettering. Mounted them to a bronze FN Pro wheel.

Do these hit the front mud guards at full lock? As much as possible I want to keep the front mud guards but I've heard of some people having to remove them going to 285. I see you still have yours on.

I’ve put it on a forklift and cranked the wheel over and nothing. Clears by a 1/4”. No visual signs of rubbing either. I didn’t install my rubber coil isolator (oops), that probably would give me 1/8th to 1/4” of lift. It’s not rubbing or making noise, so no action taken yet!!

If you don't really intend on hitting the trails you should be fine. I don't get rub on the trails really unless I reverse at full lock and its a slight rub from fronts inner liner on the side turned in.

I do have a 2" lift over a stock 4R

Finally got mine fitted up with the Bilstein 2.5/1.5. I’m running with SpiderTrax 1.25” spacers. I needed them. These would be way too tucked for my liking.

I had to trim a LOT of fender liner. Haven’t been off road yet but compared to my 265 Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws, these are louder for sure. These are also C load vs P series.

I had wicked steering wheel wobble at 50 MPH. Initial pressure was 35-36 from tire shop. Pushed pressures to 40 all the way around. Wobble all but gone. I’m thinking of going to 42 to see how I like it but 40 is making me happy to have these.

So far, ride quality is excellent and no change between the P series 265 and these. It’s going to be hard to believe, but I also have only seen a drop in MPG by less than 1 mile.

Bfg-81501

I see that the BFG-81501 KO2 LT285/70R17 113Q BSW "C" class are selling via online retailer for $155 per tire
Is this a good deal to jump on? i haven't done too much research yet into tires and haven;t much thought about what i need from my tires, but these seem like decent all-around tires

$155 is a great deal based on what I was finding when I was pricing these out.
