I edited my post after looking at everything again.
Just get the Metra 88-00-8000 kit, because all you need is the cubby.
And Scosche TA021 adapter, or whatever adapter is about $6 and has these plugs:

I ordered a harnessIt's a lot simpler if you just go buy a harness from somewhere. Best Buy, any audio place...possibly even Wal-Mart. Then you just have to tie it straight to the radio harness and not have to worry about digging into your trucks wiring. They're fairly cheap.

Well, I've got good news and bad news.
The 88-00-8000Metra pocket kit is a bit jenky, but it bolts up to the factory brackets with the stereo just fine.
The Scosche harness on the other hand, not so much. My radio has a 15-pin connector that integrates with the factory amp. I intend to keep the amp.
The Scosche harness is a 2-piece set that won't mate up to the 15-pin plug in the car.
So the factory radio went back in.
An additional search on Amazon revealed a Metra 70-8112 Radio Wiring Harness for Toyota Amp Integration 15 Pin - so I've ordered it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002BEUBW/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_KVSOxb64KMJQ1
From the looks of it, that harness should hook right up, so in about a week I'll be rocking and rolling (literally) in aftermarket glory.

If you're installing an aftermarket deck, odds are you wont need that stock amp. Unless you bought a deck without internal amplification. If you pull out the amp, you'll find that your existing wiring harness should work with the harnesses that plug into the amp.

Exactly what he said. Connecting your new head unit to the factory amp is probably going to cause some issues. I don't know the exact specs of wattage from the factory deck going into the factory amp but I bet the aftermarket deck is way off.
But hey if it sounds terrible just use it until you can't stand it anymore then buy the Alpine Universal Power Pack and some decent (not overkill) speakers.

Why a 150 buck power pack and not an amp? You can score a 4 channel amp with 125 RMS per channel for under 60 bucks. Sure it's a little harder to wire but for the money it would be the way to go IMO.
I ended up not even using my amp for the speakers. I have the stock 6.5's up front for now and put some 6.5 Concepts I had laying around in the rear. My deck puts out a measly 16 RMS per channel and once I fired everything up it had plenty of volume to keep me from wiring the 4 channel amp up. I also have a 10" pioneer sub in the back fired by 1 Boss 1000w mono though. That helps. lol

I canceled the 15 pin harness (no great loss at only $5) and I will proceed to wire up the Scosche harness.

From the looks of your pics, the Metra pocket I got off Amazon is smaller, shallower and has less volume (due to thick plastic walls) than the one in your pics.
The cubby I got from BestBuy, also by Metra, looks like the one in your pics, but its brackets don't line up with the factory radio brackets, except at the rear, so I'd have to jury-rig it the front connection. I could probably just strap it to the radio body itself.
Since I tend to just stash junk in spaces like this, I'm ok with the smaller pocket although, a panel area for an AUX jack and USB input would be handy since my aftermarket stereo can take both, as well as Bluetooth.

Any aftermarket stereo should have it's own amp.
Rip out the factory amp, use the $6 TA02B harness.

This is just my personal opinion but I simply don't believe you can buy a quality new retail 4 channel amp with 125 W RMS power channel for $60 US.
The Alpine Power Pack has a great reputation which is why I recommend it. And at 4x45W RMS it packs more than enough punch at very good quality for a consumer amp.
I have an Alpine amp powering my Kappas at 75x4 RMS and it has always impressed me.
Simply put in terms of clean power and sound quality a Watt on one amp is not the same as an Watt on a different amp.

I agree that Alpine makes some great products. I've used them a lot in the past. And your also right that a cleanliness of a system can be impacted a lot by the components used in them.
That's why I personally would go with an amp if I felt it was needed. Which it is to get the max out of my sub. I'll also probably put one in once I upgrade the front factory speakers with something that needs some more RMS.
I always go for amps with 125 RMS per channel even if the speakers(which is most decent aftermarkets in the 6,5 range) require 5O RMS. You get that clean sound by just dialing the gain on the amp down. It's how I've always preferred to do it. Like I said in my previous post it's more work but I'll put my system against a power pack any day of the week.
As far as not being able to get a decent amp for 60ish bucks here's a few.

Boss
The boss is a little over plus if you take into account the amp kit your looking between 80-100. You could easily go up to 400 from Rockford or Alpine. I've used both Boss and Planet Audio and the sound you get from them is pretty damn solid. Non audiophiles would have no clue.
These are the speakers I'm thinking of getting for the front BTW. They score pretty damn good reviews everywhere and are fairly cheap. Anyone have any positives or negatives to say about them?
