4runner TRD Pro

Sheesh. First world problems I guess. Do yourself a favor. If you can't stand the squish noise, either turn up the f'ing radio or go buy a Jeep so you can complain about some real issues.

*end rant.....I need my coffee now

You need a hug.

You need to understand something: TRD is not Toyota proper. They are a part of Toyota but their engineering is totally separate. They work in conjunction with the Toyota engineers but they have their own guys do the work. The suspension was done by TRD engineers, not Toyota (the guys who designed the rest of the truck) engineers. There is a big difference. That's why there is a problem with tire interference on some of the TRD Pros. They didn't allow for the different alignment, specifically caster, settings that could come from the factory. Also that's why the work was done at the port instead of the plant in Japan. The grille and appearance bits were done at the factory. The suspension (and the "clunk" when it gets cold and the rubbing which meant the cover needed trimming) was designed by TRD and installed at the port. There is a BIG difference between TRD engineers and the Toyota engineers.

Have you ever heard of a non TRD PRO 4Runner that needed the front cover trimmed? Or a clunk coming from a suspension of a non TRD 4Runner? That's the TRD guys, not Toyota engineers. If you blame someone then at least blame the right guys. And it's not the tire fault either. It's the wheel and suspension fault.

Good info -- thanks for sharing, but I'm sure he didn't know that,...I certainly didn't.

Also, blaming Toyota isn't completely unreasonable considering it is a Toyota product.

One good thing -- at least I'll know who to blame with my suspension starts the clunk this winter. Actually -- think I'll start with a preemptive strike right now -- THANKS A LOT FOR THE CLUNK I'LL HAVE IN 3 MONTHS TRD ENGINEERS!

TRD PRO = window dressing

SQUISH = Get a Life

This is the kinda *****ing that keeps me from frequenting Forums…..

My ’08 FJ & ’15 Tundra have the same thing, as well as my Pro….

It’s a common thing. Get over yourself. You’re probably the same guy that drinks coffee through a straw to keep his teeth white…….

i had two main complaints about the vehicle.
(1) the brake noise
(2) SUPER WHITE paint that scratches and chips way easier than it should

Sh*t! I almost got coffee on my teeth after reading this. That would have ruined my day. Not more than my squishy brakes already do though.

Changing the topic. LoL

The dealer gave me an extra TRD Pro badge. I am thinking about putting it on the cargo door. Left, right or not at all?

I'd say leave it blank and black out that silver! Lol....

We tested the TRD PRO. She proved unstoppable in the mountains. I'm super proud of Stryker.

Time to pull out the Plasti-dip.

Awesome! We have enjoyed the pics. I think I saw you on the side of a mountain when I flew over last week. :)
