4runner TRD Pro

Finally got it. Named it "Kit". Had the dealer throw on 275/70/17 BFG KO2's and 25% tint. Wheel spacers, rain guards, Airlift 1000, and some plastidip are going on as soon as we get some consistent nice weather. Pictures really don't do these things any justice but I know I had to post one to prove it exists.

Big thanks to everyone I've stalked and pestered with questions over the last few months!

Any rubbing issue with the 275's? What wheel spacers did you go with? I started completely stock TRDPro post Port cut, and had no rub issues. I added 1.25" Black (don't get why would do blue) Spidertraxx, and began to rub at full lock left and right. Ran into TRDPRO73 and his rig appeared(we didn't have measuring tools) to sit visibly higher than mine in the front. Got mine in October, and his was a month old or so. Suspension couldn't have settled that visibly drastic in my mind. It bothered me, not to mention, I still saw a sort of factory rake on mine. Trolled this thread and the Toytec front spacer interested me as I have no intentions on serious offroad until it's paid off. Not a mall crawler by any means, but as Borat would say, I think they installed a ***** magnet somewhere in it. Kidding, sort of. 3 years from now though, I can see some Icon or Toytec lift happening on 33's. But for now, I went with a 1" spacer lift all the way around from Cornfed Suspensions. Very happy so far, although I have noticed a little ride sacrifice from what I thought was a super lush factory suspension. Almost feels a little in between my 14' TEP w/ KDSS. With the added spacer lift, I no longer rub in full lock, and measured 38 inches from ground to middle of the fender well front and back. But, I really really want the 275 KO2's. Figure that's gonna put me right back to rubbing sadly. So back to the original question(sorry ADHD)... do you rub? Also, cheers and kudos to all 4Runner owners on T4R. I have seen some amazing rigs on this site. So much inspiration.

I haven't had any rubbing issues yet and I think the 275's really look/ride great. Then again, I havent installed the 1.25" Spidertraxx yet. Looks like I may have look into the Cornfed spacers. Did the spacer lift add a little stiffness? Is that what you're referring to when you mention "ride sacrifice"?

Have you checked to see if your front Bils are set on the highest notch? There's only two notches on ours so a ring should be showing on each shock.

I'm in the process of ordering a new one in Super White. I was told today that they expect as long as a 5 month lead time because they were told not that many white ones are being built. I plan to go in Saturday and put the $500 deposit down on it.

The minute I saw TRDPRO's build thread, I was done for! His is AWESOME looking. :faint:

Went ahead and placed my order today! Was told maybe they will build me a white one and maybe I'll see it between May and August... I was fine with that. Then after leaving, I was passed on the highway by a white one and was like "Darn it!!!".

Here's the thing - Has anyone heard of this?: I called back and said "Hey if they won't build me a white '15 and it gets close to July/August, may as well wait a couple more months for a '16..." I was told that they are only making the TRD Pro's for 2015 and will not make them again. I was also told they are only making 1500 of each of 4 colors: Black, White, Inferno and Barcelona Red...

Has anyone else heard of this? Any Toyota guys out there willing to confirm or deny?

At the end of the day, I really really hope they will build me a white one!

it may very well be worth looking around outside of Toyotas web - I had been told same thing. only way to get one was to order as they were all pre sold, had waiting lists, etc. I also placed an order then after some searching online that evening found several available no waiting. I picked up my white one the next day less than 80 miles away

Would you mind telling me when that was? I had two dealers search and neither one could find one that wasn't spoken for. That's why I went the order route. Did you find yours on Autotrader.com or someplace like that? I'd really hate to wait and end up being told they won't build anymore white ones.

Thanks for your help!

For the 4Runner it is 500 each color to US, 1500 total TRD Pros (4Runner). Also, have heard only 2015, no future plans...
NO Barcelona Red, white, black, inferno only.

I found mine on autotrader at a small town dealer 150 miles away. When I found them on the Toyota site they were already sold. The local dealers would tell me they could get one, but then try to sell me something on the lot. I suggest checking autotrader daily. I got about $3000 off MSRP, but had the advantage of paying cash.

I will do that. Thank you for the tip. I'm nervous that the order may not be approved. There's no way to know if all the white editions have already been built.

I've never seen an actual number from Toyota, but have had dealers tell me different numbers. Fourwheeler.com had an article that stated a minimum of 2500 and CarandDriver listed 3400.
2015 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro First Drive ? Review ? Car and Driver

the final official announcement from toyota after all those pre production tests and articles written from them was 1500 of each model.

the articles were written while still in pre production so the trucks or production numbers still weren't in their final form. For example, on this C&D article the 4R trd had sunroofs, signal mirrors and on other articles you could see the front coilovers had more adjustment (3 rings) .

I had a 07 FJ TRD. The dealer said it was 1 of 1000, however they made 3200. The last Trail Team FJ came in numbered units of 2500. I suspect the actual number of TRDPro 4runners is the 3400. Either way, the resale value on my TRD FJ was unbelievable, which is why I jumped on the chance to buy a TRDPro 4runner well under MSRP.

Edit: I hear you on the sunroof etc. but I suspect Toyota didn't actually commit to a number. Given the sales, they should keep producing until the model year changes. As for 2016, maybe they will do different colors as they did with FJs.

i used auto trader and any/every other online source I could find. I also had an FJ and the resell on it is what pushed me into trading - basically drove it free for 2 years!!! ;-)

now if you are stuck on a certain color that may hold you to the wait. I never get hung up on color so that wasn't an issue for me and helped in the search.
