Hi,
From my understanding the Remote Start has been updated again and the new part number is PT398-89140, which was previously PT398-89120 and was PT398-89100 prior to that.
The PT398-89140 is A LOT MORE AFFORDABLE by saving over $100 then the PT398-89120.
Additionally, from my limited understanding, it was explained that 89140 is a singe consolidated unit that works with both smart and none smart keys/vehicles. :clap2:

If anyone can get their hands on the PT398-89140 installation instructions, I would like to get my hands on it.
My interpretation, of your above statement is that this new unit is all contained in one "box" rather than having to go into the dash in multiple locations as with the earlier versions? I would definitely be interested in his new unit, if this is the case. (Edit to add: after looking at the 2010 instructions, it looks like the Non Smart Key installation was the complicated one.)

In case anyone was curious like I was after installing, the torque value of this is 15ft-lbs NOT 30 like the drain plug!

here is how to remove the rear garnish under nameplate piece that is either chrome or black depending on year and trim package.
i'm about to do this to replace the melted out rear lift gate switch that is currently in there.

Many thanks to WhiskeyCop and everyone who has contributed to this great resource. Sorry if I may have missed it, but just wanted to add a reminder to everyone doing their own maintenance to not forget greasing the propeller shaft (or shafts if you have 4wd). I grease mine every oil change. The user manual calls for Lithium base chassis grease, NLGI No.2 for the Spider and Molybdenum-disulfide lithium base chas- sis grease, NLGI No.2 or lithium base chassis grease, NLGI No.2 for the Slide Yoke. I personally use Valvoline Crimson Heavy Duty Grease for the Spiders and Yokes in my Toyota FJC and will use the same for my T4R. I chose the Valvoline, but there are some other great choices if you search around.
