5th Gen Marker Lights in Grill

Green wire is hot, thanks I haven't looked at yet just mapping it out. How about flashing? Not sure if it's "negative switched".

The lights will NOT flash if you tap into the green wire, since it's constant hot (when marker lights are on).

I tapped the 2nd wire (Negative - white/gray stripes I think) to ground the lights, but you can ground anywhere you choose, as long as it's a solid ground.

Thanks for the response, I'm going with the oznium bolts suggested by [MENTION=139136]OnTheRocks[/MENTION] now that amazon has the 11mm in stock again. I'm surprised they don't flash when unlocking with the remote/key. Guess I'll have to dig deeper.

I've decided to keep them on the fogs and DRL. BTW, almost two months later and they are brighter than ever, didn't have any problem with them. I love Oznium products. not cheap but well worth

Cool, I'm good with no flash, nice touch getting them on your roof rack too. Yes they get good reviews, now I just have to decide whether to install 3 or 4. Maybe I'll start a poll...

I think it looks better with 3 or 5. I installed 3 cause I think with 5 looks like I'm trying to hard, is a little more subtle with 3. Plus you can always install the additional two if you feel like it, but for me 3 was the winning number

So I jumped on the band wagon and I installed the marker lights on my truck. I wanted something I can do and not pay for. I took RCO's advice on the install and incorporated with STORM RUNNERS advice on the tabs. This made the lights flush and not zip tied ( StormRunner Build & Adventure Thread- page 15).
Here is my voyage.

I used a dremel to cut the corners so they can be inserted from the back side.

This black plug was on the fire wall. I pulled this out and cut the center of it. I used this hole to run the red wire to the add a circuit wire. This was to make a tighter fit and have some sort of waterproof protection just in case. I'm going to put some clear silicon around this as well just in case.

Sorry for the sideways pics... Had these LED trailer lights, looking like they might fit up pretty well. Not super bright. Bought a pack of 4 (2 red, 2 amber) off ebay last year for about nothing.

Add a fuse

I followed the RCO method and link to add a fuse on amazon and I noticed the add a fuse from the link does not fit the fuse panel size fuses. What size do I need? Just want some input before ordering. Thanks.

I figured it out. Went to autozone and they had add a fuses for the smaller fuses.

I ordered the same one RCO put a link too. It's the mini fuse. It worked for me.

I got my 4 bolt leds and the add a fuse ready to go through the firewall. My question is where on the inside of the vehicle does that plug lead to? Is it a pain to fish the wires in there? Does anyone have a picture of where the wires pop through on the inside? Thanks.

Haven't even gotten that far. Just stuck them through the grill to see how they looked then took them out.

I like the look of these marker lights. I'm considering using possibly a few of them on each side next to my headlights as daytime running lights, to work like the DRL/turn signals on the 5th-gen 4Runners and 2nd-gen Tacoma's (examples below). However, I don't know how bright they actually are.

How visible are yours during the day compared to the ones on the 5th-gens and the second-gen tacomas like these below?
Do you think 2 of them on the left and two on the right would be as visible as those below?

They're just as bright, very visible
