Hi Toyota 4Runner Forum.

This is my first post. Sorry about the photo being sideways. I can't figure out how to turn it around. I'm not very tech savvy.

Thank you for the wealth of information this forum provides.

I did my first light project this weekend and installed grill marker lights. I used the Rockcreek method, but switched styles of LED lights. The lights required no modifications and fit nicely into the grill. Hyperlites was the company used. I've used their product on my motorbike in the past.

I've got a quick question about this... (been gathering all my parts, haven't started the mod yet).

I've noticed the wires coming off the actual LED lights are pretty short... how exactly are you guys connecting all the red together and all the white together... I haven't seen a picture of this.. the lights are spread out across the grille, I just can't picture in my head how this looks.... are you using extra wire?

(I bought the LED's off amazon.. used my dremel so they'll sit flush behind the mesh instead of in front)

Extra wire from pass side marker light to mid light, then extra wire from mid light to drivers side marker light, and another foot or so from the driverside marker to a plug. I used a two wire waterproof connector/harness so I could easily remove the upper grill. I ran the wires tucked up along the top of the upper grill so it’s hidden and zip tied snug. Wire loom and heat shrink, take your time and do it once.

Just getting underway with the grille light mod and wanted to say thanks to [MENTION=121801]swva[/MENTION] for your build idea. Bought that metal backings, painted and prepped them and it made things go smoothly. Soldered the connections instead of taps and then rubber shrink sealed them before running loom on them and another rubber shrink seal. Am going to splice them into the parking light so when it’s dusk/dark and the parking amber lights come on, so will the amber grill lights. Will black out the stainless steel bolt heads once it’s ready to go. Here a a couple pics, nothing great but did get a few. I will post finished pics when it’s all done. Thanks to all for your ideas and inspiration !

I really like the way it looks. Adds a little something that I find the front end is missing. Not bad for ~$30.

Completely agree. Subtle change that really adds something to that space and hasnt been too technical a mod so far.

I'm glad I was able to help someone out with on this! I hope the project works out well for you. The plates have held up really well on my vehicle. The lights are still rock solid today.

Just one 10amp. These draw nothing, go as low as possible.

You have no idea how much searching I have done the last 2 days on this forum just to find this answer. Literally, not one post other than yours on what amp fuse to use. I was gonna go with 7.5 to be safe but now I'll be going with 5. Thanks!

First post. Bought my daughter a TRD Pro. My wife and i both have Raptor’s and really liked what I saw on this thread. However, I wasn't happy with the plastic LEDs bars being used. Found these on amazon and gave them a try.

Very happy with fit and final results! They look very similar to the ones on the Raptor, are bright during day/night and fit securely in the grill slots. Only modification I did was to silicone the lights better to seal them. Alrhough they snapped into the grill and felt secure, I added a littlesilicone on them to ‘glue’ them in grill.

Not sure which Raptor I like more the blue or the white. I am holding out for the Ranger Raptor for my Daughters as it's a way to sneak another truck into the garage.

Thanks for the compliments!

My wife actually got the blue Raptor first and it’s a street queen. I felt ‘inadequate’ and got my Raptor extension, which is flogged on a regular basis.

Great trucks, but I am enjoying driving the TRD Pro when I can steal the keys from my daughter. If only Toyota would bring back the V8 as an option

Silver Taco is my sons. Working on Raptor LED for his and will try to install next weekend.

Auxbeam Dual LED function

I ended up going with an Auxbeam LED light bar that had integrated DRLs. Right now they are on independent switches supplied with the light bar.....

I also went with DDM Tuning DRL/HighBeam LEDs and Xenon Depot Low Beam LEDs.
