Hi,
thanks for the write-up! Very helpful.
I'm currently in the process of doing the same (first time ever doing something similar) and I got a question.
I read many guides that tell how to install the lights in the fuse box in the cabin (driver side).
But I'm not sure how to connect to the OEM switch instead? All the switches I found have 4 cables.
Do I just use 2 of those (power and ground)?
Or leave the ground in the chassis and use just the power?
Thanks!
I'm currently doing the same thing. I initially wired mine up to the cabin fuse box with an add a fuse, but now I want to be able to turn them on and off.
To do this, you will have to get a new wiring harness with a relay. I bought this one off Amazon.

Basically, you hook your marker lights up to this harness, cut the switch off that comes with this harness, run the wiring into the cab, and add your new switch.
I don't have the wiring diagram in front of me right now, but I think one wire goes to your battery, one goes to ground, one goes to the relay, and one connects to another wire so that the switch illuminates when you engage it. Don't quote me on that exact wiring scheme though.
This video is helpful.
