This past weekend, I took a 101 class with Uwharrie Off Road Training Center. I was interested in learning new techniques, or advice on tweaking old ones. The class was awesome! Even better than I expected.
There was a couple hours of classroom session, followed by techniques of throttle and brake control practiced on their property's obstacles. Some of what they taught felt very alien at first, but I stuck with it as I was there to learn.
We continued the day practicing sidehills and off camber travel. We then moved on to failed hill climbs and descents. As we kept on, I continued using the freshly taught styles, getting more and more comfortable as the day moved on. We did a small intro into recovery before going on a group training trail ride.
I absolutely enjoyed the class, and look forward to the next one.
I had more parts arrive last week and will start the assembly process so I can get it dropped into it's resting place early next month.
On Sunday my plans to build the cargo area with slide out fridge, stove, and drawers were pushed back due to rain. I still got a good start on it considering I only had a short time before it got dark.
