I just read through this whole thread... I'm sad!

I have been having project withdrawls lately. Hopefully soon I can get another one... then sell it a month later... or not!

I'll tell you what--go find a stock 1st Gen with a nice body for cheap, then buy mine for all the running gear for, say, $2500. Then I'll go buy what I really wanted before falling for this one.

I understand your sentiment, Kev, but there are a number of issues that I should've taken into consideration before getting this, and not all because of the model, either. I just don't have the facilities or help here that I had in SD to start on a serious project, and I can't leave the truck in pieces in this neighborhood. Basically, I jumped too soon because of all the extra equipment this came with, without really thinking it through, and now there's little I can do with it until I move (and I don't know how soon that may be). Another big question is it doesn't have the original title, so I don't know what kind of hassles I'll run into in another state down the road.
