Managed to source a link for the front so all sway bars are connected now.
Buttoning things up slowly.
Front end needs parts sanded and painted.
I need to do emissions on the car and I have engine lights for the three shift solenoids and trans temp. Will it pass emissions or do those things affect "emissions"?
Also I have the manual ecu but when I connect it it'll crank but not start like it's either not running the fuel pump or not giving spark. Anyone know anything about that? Id much rather use the manual ecu.

Soldered in a resistor between the two wires on the transmission temp sensor and put resistors to the three solenoid wires and grounded them. No more check engine lights so far. Used to light up soon as a started the car after resetting so hopefully I can pass emissions this time.
Going to try to get the reverse lights working tomorrow and work on a couple other things.

Passed emissions today got my plates. Ready to take on the world.
I've noticed I'm not a fan of the Rancho suspension that's on it, it's rough especially on uneven pavement or potholes, very noticeable how much worse it is compared to when I drive over the same terrain on my dad's 99 limited.
I'll probably plan a suspension change around the same time I buy new tires later this year. From the research I've done I'm leaning towards the FJ/oem stuff.

Did a custom tape job on my air box lol. Neither ABS cement nor epoxy worked yesterday so I went and tried window flashing.
Also removed the resonator and did some tweaking with the vacuum lines to avoid having to deal with making a bung for the vacuum line in the new pipe. Just ran down to Home Depot and got a 3/8" plastic T and cut into the neighboring line running from the airbox to the evap canister.
I tried cutting the resonator off from the mid pipe but again epoxying it didn't work and the gap is too large to glue without a filler material.
Managed to find a 2.5" exhaust pipe at the auto parts store. Optimally you want a 2.75" outer diameter to have a nice solid seal but I just removed the stock clamps and put some pipe clamps on and it tightened pretty good.
Deck plate mod coming soon I think.

Waiting for some extra funds to take care of the paint job, kind of considering to repaint the whole car but I don't know if that'll happen. Also hoping to get a scooped hood before getting painted.

1999 4Runner rebuild
4Runner lurking in the back. Went shooting for a bit with my bro and dad today to test out his new 12 gauge. Brother broke his leg a few weeks ago so we brought him a chair lol
I also scored a white hood for the Runner, traded my neighbor my green one for his white one since he's selling his and I helped him fix it a few times recently.

Haven’t been on here for a while.
Was changing sway bar links when I noticed something wasn’t quite right lol.
Got 5100s in the rear now. Forgot to save the pictures that I took.
Also got 265/75 Falken Wildpeaks AT3W mounted instead my worn out 10 year old 265/70 KOs. I got them in standard load rating. So far so good they’re soft and drive nice. Haven’t had a chance to test them in the snow yet.
Horrible pictures but all I have on my phone lol.
Also changed out upper and lower Tacoma ball joints, inner and outer taco tie rods, and got new front wheel bearings pressed in. After alignment it drives like a dream. Thought I had pics of the work but I can’t find them [emoji17]

Rust bucket
this will be an interesting build. Looks like so much rust in the engine bay I'm not even sure how that happens.. like the farmer that won the nobel prize, just outstanding in his field. I got lucky picking up mine from vegas, no rust and since it was garaged even the paint looks new. Only thing bad is the leather interior, its all baked and cracked.

I painted the engine bay but I may redo it once I need to upgrade the clutch and do a thorough job on it. The heat from the fire destroyed the paint.

Did my big brake upgrade today with factory Tundra rotors, pads, shim kit, and rebuilt calipers.
Unfortunately wasn’t able to take a drive and test out the new system because my Pro Comp 1059s 16x8 don’t clear the calipers, despite all threads saying that they do clear. It hits the caliper piston bulge. Needs about 1/4” to clear. So I’m strongly considering Spidertrax 1.25” or BORA 0.75” adapters.
Unless I did something wrong, but there’s not much to mess up since it’s only two bolts that mount the calipers and everything bolted up fine, done many brake jobs before this one...

That’s exactly what I was wanting but they’d only be here Monday and I think I’ll be going up to the hills on Saturday so I went with Spidertrax 1.25” should be here tomorrow. Way wider than what I want but it’ll do for now and I may go down to .75” later on or get different wheels.
I was going to put some G2 paint on them but I wanted to test them out first and make sure they don’t leak or anything before polishing the casting marks a bit and painting.
