Just ordered a set of these! 17 x 9 Level 8 ZX wheels in flat black, which Im going to pairing with a new set of Cooper Discover ATPs. Pretty excited about it. Ive wanted these wheels for two years now. Will take pictures when I get everything installed.

Just came across your grille letters, and nice work, and creative thinking.

Not sure if it's possible, but anyway you can could scan your letter drawings? Or maybe a dimensioned sketch?

I'm impressed you got it to look so good by hand, how come you didn't use a dremel cutoff wheel?

I actually don't have my draft anymore. I could try taking the emblem off and tracing it, but I think that would be difficult. I do know that Ive seen a few Europa fonts for MS Word that looked very similar to my draft. Though I did mine from scratch.

I haven't added any pictures of my truck since getting my Level 8 zx wheels with 265 70 17 Discover A/Ts. I wanted these wheels in all black, but they discontinued them just a few months before I ordered them. So I had to get them with a silver lip. Personally, Im not crazy about the silver and will be painting the lips to match the rest of the flat black wheels. This is with a 2"~ lift. Truck is a little dirty, and as usual I just cant seem to get a clear picture with my ipod. Anyways . . .

What hasn't been said...the truck looks great! Do you still have your bilies on the top notch with the 99 coils? You have the perfect amount of space between the tires and fenders.

I have them set on the middle notch. Yeah, I wanted around 2 inches, but no more than that. I dont do enough off road for anything beyond 2 inches.

What are your hub to fender measurements? I think I'm going to do the same lift but I'm driving an 02 so I'm starting a bit lower.

I actually cant take the measurements right now as Im back in WY and my truck is in WI. But what I can tell you is that if you ran my exact setup (Taco Bilstein 5100 on middle setting with 99 coils up front and 99 coils with a 1.5 spacer in the back) you would get around 2.5 lift. Keep in mind my tires are 32".

That's interesting. I always swapped the shocks and the springs when I was experimenting with springs. Your data point sounds like a good one, maybe find the shocks you like on 99s + spacer and 890s should ride similar.

I ended up running low damped digressive bilstiens with 99s and later 4x4 FJs. The stiffer OME springs and the shocks folks typically paired seemed to ride terrible without weight.

If you can deal with the free height, you might also check out FJ springs. My experience is they are stiffer than 99s and hold a bit of weight while maintaining Oe ride. Camburg makes a +2 which I'll get if I go higher.

Did some painting over the past few days. I didnt like the silver lip around the edge of my Level 8 zx wheels, so I matched them with semi-gloss black. Personally, I like the all black MUCH better. Though with all black the tires look smaller. The silver lip somehow created an allusion of making the tires look bigger.

Did you list the truck for sale any time recently in the Philadelphia area? I assume not, because it looks so different now, but this picture:

Was on a listing (admittedly sketchy looking) on Philadelphia CL. Almost contacted the seller, but then found this build thread and your location and was like ??????????

This exact picture, the railings stood out to me in the background. Truck isnt for sale anymore, otherwise id link it. I remember being curious because it was listed for a very low $4k flat and I was looking at the time.

Huh, thats crazy. So someone pulled a picture of my truck from the forum or google and tried running a scam with it, Im guessing? I wonder why they would use that picture though. Its not even a good picture of a 3rd gen :shrug:
