Alex if you ever feel like you're ready to fall off the wagon and are having serious withdrawal symptoms and need to get into an IJM supercharged T4r with 4.88's just give me a call. I'll be there and let you take it for a spin.

There are only three things I hate about the GX470: the high parts cost of OEM replacement, the swing out back gate and the fact that I don't have one.

Looks nice. I have always been partial to the blue ones. 10x better for the little ones than any 4runner....

You may want to add a giant Monster sticker to the back or something like it. Otherwise you're never going to find it again in the Costco parking lot.

I'm not one to talk because I still have my factory running boards on but ^THAT shi* was funny!

^ Not as cool looking as a 3rd gen but I guess it'll do :p. Nice ride.
Thanks man! Once it's lifted with some nicer wheels and tires, a roof rack, ya know... It'll be pretty cool =D

4.88s?? I bet that thing moves pretty good!
Nice find

Thanks!
What are the plans for it?
Going to keep it much more simple than the 4Runner. Since, it turns out, my needs are much more simple than what my 4Runner was equipped for.
Roof Rack
Sliders
Lift
Tires
Wheels

Likely in that order. Down the road I'll look into a hidden winch setup for the front.

Haha, I know what you mean on the OEM parts. I ordered about 8 bolts for that LS I bought last summer and was quoted something like $85. Had a friend with a "connection" order the same things: $9.

There were two blue sports for sale here locally (the darker blue) and they were both absolute trash, and priced higher than this, by far.

I am already learning to hate the gate. The "lock out" mechanism to keep it open is quite cumbersome for a Lexus.

Luckily my two kids have four legs and are covered in fur. However, the big one does like jumping into the back of this a lot more than she liked jumping 17' into the back of the 4Runner.
Can you wrap it in green or something? Silver sucks
There was a SWEET light green colored one for sale in Salt Lake City that I would have bought had the dealership returned my calls/emails. They did not.
Jared has been on fire lately
Now that the political threads are shut down he has to troll the 3rd gen board again. We're so lucky. Hepar - your message didn't quote for some reason. We took the dogs to the park today and Emily kept calling me Judy. She thought that was a good soccer mom name, I guess.
Meh....:hatsoff:

Looks good Alex. Those GX's have always had a distinctive look when modded that I kinda like. I know you won't be taking this one as far as you took your 3rd gen, but I always think of the GX that was done to the 9s over on Expedition Portal and then posted for sale at some crazy number close to $100k at first I believe.

Good luck with the new ride, will you be starting a build thread for it?

So amazing. [emoji173]
Silver is very boring. Everyone has silver cars.
Silver looks so fcking good when it's clean, and still pretty good when it's dirty!
Silver is an amazing color, and looks perfect on that.
Can't wait to see the mild "build" on it. Sounds like it'll be just my style [emoji1360]
Congrats [emoji322]

If anyone is curious, here's where the GX is so far... Not much going on, but the suspension should be to the states before long. The wait is killing me.

I had some Morimoto HIDs but had nothing but problems with them. Warrantied a bulb after running about an hour. Replaced it, and an igniter went out. Replaced it, and then the other bulb burnt up. Ripped the harness out, put my stock lights back in, and ordered a kit from XenonDepot. After all the issues I have had with TRS this past year I'll never recommend or order another of their products. I understand that their warranty covers basically anything, but it doesn't cover the ticket I get for having a headlight out, or my time troubleshooting and replacing crap every other day.

So far:
Front Runner Slimline II Rack (This thing is freaking awesome.)
Front Runner Awning Mounts (If possible, better than the rack. Incredible quality.)
17" SCS F5s (ordered a 5th today, thanks Vin SCSPerformance )
255/80R17 Cooper ST Maxx (Ordered a 5th today)
Generic LED fogs (output is absolute trash, lol... Look cool though :nerd: )
My trusty CVT awning (looking at an "ARQ" 270 but feeling uneasy about ordering... Can find no info outside of their Instagram page.)
Weathertech Liners front, rear, and cargo

GROM Audio BT3 bluetooth adapter. I had a couple issues with it this past week but the owner contacted me, sent me a new firmware update, and walked me through how to install. So far so good.

Parts that have been ordered and aren't here yet:
OME BP-51 Suspension
ARB Twin Compressor w/ inflation kit and deflator

Next up:
OPOR Sliders from Metal Tech
RCI Aluminum Skids

All in all, I am loving the GX. Without any lift the front rubs a bit so I have not taken it offroad. However, last Sunday I drove up to Stevens Pass to snowboard and the KDSS just ate the corners up, while the V8 had no issues maintaining speed up the final ascent (no one that hasn't been there knows what I am talking about). My gas mileage has been trash (like 15mpg) but I haven't taken it on any good highway trips yet. I don't really care what it gets around town, but if I cannot pull 16+ on the highway I'll be disappointed. Oh well!

Classy! That wheel and tire combo look sweet and give the vehicle a much cooler look overall. It is coming along very nicely. Keep us in the loop man!
