Does anyone have any experience with maestro idatalink, the new Kenwood Excelon DNN991HD has some good reviews and incorporates idatalink.

Just got my NEX8000 (with back up camera) installed, all new JL speakers, and a JL Subwoofer with custom box in the back. Tony at CHariots of Fire did an awesome job maintaining as much storage capacity in the back as possible which is what i wanted and producing a clean look. Now hopefully my two dogs don't destroy the work before i get home from Afghanistan!

About the NEX8000, it says you have to buy a separate part to get satellite radio. If the truck already has satellite factory radio though, do you still need to buy an extra piece?

One of the annoying things about the factory nav system is that the voice guidance doesn't get louder if the radio gets louder, does the voice get louder in the NEX8000?

Has anyone replaced just the head unit and left the factory speakers in place? Does it sound good that way?

As for the nav system they use Igo for their software. to me that's a huge selling point. I have Igo in my Dad's truck and I love it. In fact, I ditched the Garmin software for Igo. Garmin is very overrated.

Easily hooked it up to the SiriusXM SXV200v1 and was ready to go.

It sounded just fine to me through the factory speakers even when trying to hear the navigation audio; i usually have it off.

But the music sounded way better after upgrading the speakers.

I have this head unit. For the time being I would stay away until the geniuses at xdma figure out how to unlock it. There is a lot of bloatwear from Kenwood, and a lot of the cool features of Android have been disabled from the factory.

For anyone who installed an aftermarket stereo in an LE (replacing stock navigation). Has anyone been successful in keeping the back up camera and using the camera that came with the aftermarket system for a front or side camera?

There are 2 different versions of the sharkskin adapter. The F version and M version (female/male). I see you linked to the F version so I assume if that is the correct one for a 2012 it should also be for a 2013. No one incuding the 2 companies that sell them on Amazon could tell me for sure which one I needed. They say they do not have a listing of which version works with which vehicle.

I found a connection point that appears to be the correct one (passenger side kick panel) but when I connect it to the SiriusXM tuner, I get the dreaded "Check Antenna" message ...
Any help would be much appreciated, as I am chomping at the bit to listen to SiriusXM on my AVIC-8000NEX ...

This is helpful and correct -- the correct adaptor for the 2013 4Runner w/ base radio is the 70-8114, not the AX-TOY28SWC.

Can someone provide further confirmation on this for 2014 SR5 with stock navigation.

From what I get from researching, it seems like I would need the AX-TOY28SWC to plug in my existing 28 pin harness per photo below. I guess I would need to splice power and ground wires though?

It did not work for my 2013 4Runner - Crutchfield did not want it back, which is why I still have it.

Hmm. Did you have stock nav? So did you use 70-8114 adapter then?
