Air filtration idea

So i know there is NO CABIN AIR FILTER on the 3rd gen 4runner, i think this would be a great addition though! i removed and cleaned the squirrel cage (was not too bad) and took a look and my expansion valve under the glove box, it isn't pretty, but not terribly plugged up either.

So the plan is i should keep it in the best shape i can, and want to install a filter to keep most of the crap from being pulled into the coil and air ducts. above the blower motor (squirrel cage) is a 6.5" circular opening i though about shoving an air filter into, finding an air filter of that size is proving to be challenging..... so if there's another location option that may give me more choices.

So does anybody know where the outside air intake is for the the 3rd gen 4runner is located?

This would be a cool diy project. I've cleaned my blower motor a couple times. That space up there is perfect for a filter. The intake opens are the vents right below the windshield wipers.
