[MENTION=73851]007Tacoma[/MENTION] did you ever switch your bars? I am looking at the exact same set up but I am concerned about the U-bolt mountings sliding on the slick looking steel LFD bars.

Yes, I did! I love them. Very strong. Very rigid. Easy to mount AND easy to get underneath for bolting things to them. For the past month I had my Roam Adventure Co RTT on them. No U-Bolts needed. My RTT bolts directly to the LFD Off Road Ruggedized Crossbars.

I do use some rubber pads between the RTT rails and the crossbars.

Right now I am running my Rhino Rack Mesh bolted straight to the Ruggedized Crossbars, and I have been very happy with that setup as well. I didn't use the U-Bolts. I just used the provided (by Rhino Rack) powder coated plates that the U-Bolts would attach to. I will add pictures to this post once I get a chance.

I am working with [MENTION=136636]jafrush[/MENTION] at LFD Off Road to create some extensions for my awning. Their customer service and products has been top notch since day one, and I will continue to give them my business!

I’m very interested in this set up or the Warrior Platform Rack. My needs are bars to connect Yakima JayLows to for the kayak and some sort of platform for misc camping gear, mostly firewood bundles.

Where I’m struggling is that the firewood should require a mesh floor but the JayLows need bars. I want to be able to do both at the same time, which makes the Warrior more attactive. But I’m just uncomfortable about the lack of info & reviews for the Warrior on the Internet. Seems sketchy. Also not sure how stable firewood bundles would be on the Warrior bars.

I know that a Gobi w/ the removal bars is the perfect solution but I can’t justify the cost. Prinsu may also work very well.

Since this thread popped back up, may as well update... we sent four sets of 3/4 rails off to paint today, should be back next week. Nine sets of 7/8 rails should be going out to paint next week.

Once we can fit it in the budget, we are going to be getting one of your racks. I love our crossbars... we are just running out of room on the stock roof rails.

And I'm finishing up some crossbars like Jetboy's but with low profile black unistrut channel. Would have gone 8020 for weight savings and lack of corrosion, but didn't really know about it before reading these threads in the last couple of months.

Sure. The rack doesn't really interfere with the moon roof. The only issue is if you have a crossbar positioned just so with a wind faring or light bar hanging down, you may not be able to vent. Opening shouldn't interfere at all since the glass goes under the roof.

I'm trying to envision how your 7/8 rack plus your lightbar mount would look and function.

Hmm, good question. We've set them up with only two or three crossbars for testing side rails, but we've always run them otherwise full of crossbars.

The rails are plenty rigid with three crossbars between them, but you'll be left with a ton of open space. Maybe not as bad with the 3/4 rack though.

Personally I think it looks neat that way, it did add some wind noise in this configuration though.

Is that your Gamiviti (sp) rack? I think you were the one getting one. Post some pictures when mounted. My land cruiser friend has one and it is very nice.
