Another Bilstein 5100 question

Installed 5100's all around yesterday with fronts set to 1.75. Couldn't be happier with the setup and the improvement over the stock setup. Also - I now have 0 rubbing whereas before I would have some rubbing at full lock in reverse

I've been looking for this answer for a few days, and can't find it so I'll ask.

How complex of a job is it to swap my shocks/springs from my Trail with KDSS to the TRD Pro stock shocks/springs or maybe these 5100s set to .85 inches front? Basically, what are the additional steps involved over one that doesn't have KDSS?

There it is... The typical message board police answer that helps no one.

I see plenty of information regarding calibrating KDSS, etc etc... But I see nothing specific to simply running up to an inch lift up front.

So, anyone else care to possibly answer a pretty legit question?

i have a 2014 TEP,
I'm planning to install the lift i have very soon as well as my wheel and tire combo. i have the bilstein 5100 for all around as well as the eibach coil springs that are the 600lb rate. toytec said at the very bottom clip setting i will have 2.5" lift. the rear i have 1.5" daystar spacers.
my wheels are the pro comp rockwell 17x8.5 and the tires which are already purchased but sitting at discount tire are bfg ko2 285 70 17.

so question is with 2.5 front and 1.5 rear:
will i be rubbing?
will i be ok without UCA's?
will i have to remove my mud flaps?
will my ride still be good and still drive good with no issues?

or

should i do 275 70 17 tires?
should i do 275 70 17 tires and leave on my stock front coils and set at 1.75"front and 1" rear?

Sounds like a good set up to me, you might experience minimal rubbing, thats why most of us remove our front mudflaps or do the front fender liner mod, very minor. As for running stock UCAs youll be fine without it, just make sure you have a good alignment shop who knows what there doing. It is recommended but not required to replace UCAs. Im running a 3"lift with stock UCAs and alignment is within specs and rides real good. Youll be fine bro! Post some pics when you install your lift.

cool. id like to keep the mudflaps, but don't mind doing the fender liner mod I've read about. I'm just wondering if i should do the 1.75 front and 1" rear with 275's so maybe my acceleration isn't too badly affected as well as gas milage. i know i will lose a little mpg and acceleration but hoping not too noticeable. its my DD and so far stock i love the ride but its just a little squishy.

A better sideview

As mentioned above, 1.75F & 1"R. Does anyone did 1.75 front and 1.5 rear (daystar)? I would like to hear from you guys.

you re gonna be ass high. There is someone on here running 1.75" front and 1.5" SAW coils

5100's 1.75in and 1.0 in cornfed rear, removed xreas

After reading and reading on this forum of the pros and cons, I just went with it and had my 2012 limited (85K) lifted 1.75 front 1.0 rear and also removed the stock xreas system. Maybe my system was not working properly anymore but the new struts and shocks seem way better on bumps, rr tracks, etc. Basically I do not feel anything different other than a better ride. Only had them on for a day so far so jury could still be out.

Two years ago I had removed the stock 20's and replaced them with 18in WORXS and 275/65 Destination AT's.

Something that i can't comprehend - what is the difference between 1.5" days and 1.5" coil spring? By numbers both delivers the same lift.

Given 1.75 front.

A spacer lift and a coil lift are different because coils will actually give you more travel and often times a higher (stiffer) spring rate in order to compensate for load & thereby NOT sag. Spacers are nice and cheap and easy because they simply stretch out your strut and coil, but fail to compensate for load & do not provide any articulation benefits
