Any reviews of the new Bilstein 6112's?

Do you mean stock front end links? Nobody said I have to change them and in any case I've already been on 2" lift for 2 years and ~50K miles with stock links.

Nope, i was not just referring to the front. I have extended on front and rear. Rides like a dream.

It is one of those things you would not notice untill you did it most likely. I ditched the stock links when i installed my lift.

Theoretically, you'd think that a sway bar spacer (or link) the same height (or same length) as your lift is needed after lifting a rig. This way, the end links are at the same angle as before the lift. But, it sounds like people are getting away with much thinner sway bar mount spacer up front as compared to their lifts. I'm surprised at how these "thinner" spacers are not pre-loading the front sway bars after the lift.

How are your 6112's riding after we talked last? Did you get everything sorted?

Here's where I'm at after about 3 days and 200 miles

~2.2 avg lift front, ~2 avg lift rear

(don't be confused by my running board looking angled, it's smashed)

Getting aligned on friday and that's it for this iteration. I'll decide if I want to keep or change the rear 5100s after I've put on them some miles through all kinds of roads and terrain.

Looks good dude. If you haven't done so already, get the lifetime alignment from Firestone Mastercare. It paid for itself after the first alignment for me.

The rear shocks got swapped out so I need more seat time with this new setup. Initial feeling is that the whole rig is behaving better but I still need to do more torture test. No change up front as of yet.

You're running Icon 2.0s, have you had the 5100s (I'd like to know if the Icons would be any better)

EDIT: NVM I spent an hour reading on ICON vs 5100 and I've already ordered them.

Currently running 5100's and FJ coils at all four corners. They're just not doing the job for me. Looks like I'll be doing the 6112's up front for now and then Icon's in the rear in a month or two. Great info in this thread.

Installed mine two months ago. Set them at 2 & 4 per Bilstein guidelines with a 1/2" Toytec spacer on top. I wanted to run these at a lower preload so as not to affect the ride quality. So far I'm really liking this setup.

Just ordered my 6112's. UCA's also just showed up. New front suspension any day now!! :clap2:

There should be directions

You sure there are 9 height rings?? I just received my 6112's and the box has the new part no. (47-260153) on it, but there are 6 rings.

TIA

claiming what rings yield what lift? If not get that info...

It has that info, just six rings not 9 rings like TotalAutomotiveLV said. I'm just trying to make sure I get the latest version of these bad boys. I think I did because these have 6 with staggered settings.

Hi all. Thinking of going with the Bilstein 6112 front and keeping almost brand new oem shocks in the rear. Vehicle is 2007 4runner 2wd 6cyl. Carry very little weight in the back normally and 99% onroad city street daily driver.

Any thoughts on upgrading to the 6112 for the front and keeping oem shocks in the rear?

thanks!

They will level it out and the front end will feel great. I suspect you'll want to upgrade the rears to 5100's within a few miles. The good news is that you can swap out the rear shocks without even taking off the wheels. :becky:

This is how mine is sitting right now. 6112's in the front set at the highest settings. Icon 2.0 w reservoirs in the rear and FJ cruiser springs. It's just slightly higher in the rear unloaded and perfect when I have gear on board.
