The tail gate lock never works on the first try. It's been like that for years. I don't know what the problem is but I think I'll finally have to take it in to get it fixed.

I agree with some of the things mentioned already. My biggest complaint is the wheels on my Sport, they are almost totally rusted and it makes me sick. I never used wheel cleaner on them, just soap and water and I have pretty low miles. Sorry, I'm just really picky about the appearance of my cars and seeing a nice shinny 4Runner with rusted wheels works on my nerves and i'm really embarrassed for people to see them.

I'm a fat guy but I don't mind the seat width too much, though it could certainly better. Anything longer then a few hours and I definitely get uncomfortable.
But at 6' tall and a lot of it torso my head brushes the roof too often. Hit a big bump and I bang my head. Its enough to make me never want to offroad it (it's the go-anywhere family DD, but no offroad).
A few more inches of roof height would be awesome.

Used to think the all-the-time 4WD would bug me but I actually like it...great in the leaves or rain.
Amber lights of the dash are UGLY! Not enough 12v plugs and why not have one that's powered all the time?
Rear storage double deck is useless.

If you lock the center diff the vsc turns off

I agree about the dash lights, amber looks terrible. I just swapped the amber LEDs with White and it looks so much better!
And the double decker thing really is worthless. Everything you place on it, just falls off as you're driving anyways. I hate it.

I take that as a good thing... I hope to eventually end up with a soccer mom's '08 V8 cheap or maybe a wealthy soccer mom's GX470
To me it's nice there's lots of unmolested ones out there...

I haven't had mine long enough to get a real fell, but the things that were obvious quick for me...
- Front cup holders (I've actually been looking to find thermos cups to be a 3" dia plus to fit properly)
- Rear window remote "auto-up" - though the rear lock key feature does help minimize this one
- No manual interior lights feature (was shocked by this one)
