ARB Safari Snorkel Install

The snorkel (and pre-cleaner) have been installed for over a year now, and I'm still really pleased with it. I've been through so much dust and silt between Mexico and the Southwest US, and it's made a huge difference in my air filters. Much cleaner elements.

aFe Intake retrofit?

Has anyone with a aFe CAI done a retrofit to utilize the snorkel?

Just got my snorkel installed. Wasn't to bad. I think the inner fender was the worst part. Only I would add is just take the front tire off and put it on a jackstand. You can do it with the tire on but in hind sight it would have made things easier.

Another install, all went well other then I found taking the rubber piece that connects the stock air box to the snorkel and heating it up and then pushing it through from the engine bay worked like a charm vs trying to work it into the engine bay from the inner fender.

Very solid piece and in person looks better then the photos, still slightly sluggish looking but not as bad as I was expecting

what size hose is needed to go from the snorkel to the airbox? I bought mine with a snorkel installed only to find out recently its not connected to the airbox! 05 4runner here

Well that sucks! You’ll have to call and order one from a Safari dealer since it’s proprietary.

Are you sure thats an ARB/Safari snorkel? IF so, just call them.

IF you aren't sure who manufactures it, a trip to home depot will solve your problem. search home-brew snorkel on youtube to get an idea of what kind of tubing/water heater hose you need. You will have to measure what diameter outlet on the snorkel and what diameter inlet on the intake is required. I will not take any responsibility if you go this route....lol.

Not an arb :doh: was searching threads and this came up but didn’t notice it was arb. I will measure and take a trip to the auto parts store or Home Depot!
