[MENTION=178113]ScanGauge[/MENTION] how or when will be able to get rid of the extra 5 TP gauges that don't report anything? Not a big deal but I wouldn't mind having 5 less things to scroll through when selecting what I want to display.

The quick way is to blank out the first two characters of the TXD and then proceed to save the XGauge. That will remove it from the gauge list because the ScanGauge will see the first two characters of the TXD being empty and will assume the XGauge slot is empty and move on.

Transmission Temperatures. When towing this always worries me, but it hasn't been a problem yet.

Give these two XGauges a try for Transmission Temperature:

Transmission Temperature 1

Transmission Temperature 2

Those should work, but if not just let me know. I believe one reports the pan temperature while the other reports close to the torque converter. I honestly forget which one is which though. The one that fluctuates more and goes up/down quicker depending on the load is like the torque converter reading, while the more stable one that gradually goes up/down is likely the pan temp reading.

Is putting in the t4r code sufficient to get the beta firmware or should I have included a note as well?

The T4R code is sufficient. Programmed up a few with the beta firmware that are going out today, and I imagine one of them is likely yours!

So the install of the ScanGuage went fairly easy.

Scrolling through the gauges however found some extra gauges that aren't in my manual.

Extra gauge codes were "TT".

There are a lot of the TT gauges, as well as some extra tpm gauges which we were told if they don't work we could clear them out.

So now I look at earlier post #81 above and find that the "tft" gauge is the transmission gauge I requested be programmed in at the time of my order.

The one thing I forgot to mention in my order was that I had a 2017 4runner. so would that have mattered? I did use the T4R code so that may have helped them program it.

And I guess I will look and see how to program the second "tft" gauge in post #81 above and see which one is programmed in there already.

Have yet to test drive it yet just did the setup and installed in front of my clock on the top of my dash.

I have a 2013 and there is no TPMS in the spare.

Have my Scangauge installed and it works great. Have noticed several people posting that when they installed bigger tires, that their speedometers actually matched their gps speed afterwards. Has anyone adjusted the mph on their Scangauge for stock tire size? How much did you compensate on the Scangauge? Thanks for any help, trying to avoid adjusting by trial and error....Jim

We've recently released the firmware, but it can take some time before all the local dealers restock with it. If you happen to purchase a ScanGauge from a local dealer and it's not the latest firmware we'd be happy to update it for free.

The SR5, TRD Pro, TRD Offroad, and Trail Edition (non-Limited) 2010+ 4Runners have 4 TPMS Sensors.

The Limited (ones with 20" wheels) have 5 TMPS Sensors.

My 2015 has 5 sensors

I’d I fiddle with the cable where it connects to the vehicle, I can get it to reconnect, but then it will quickly become disconnected again. Do I need to buy a new cable? Any suggestions on how to keep it secure?

Hmmm, hard to say why exactly it's not staying on well. Normally the OBDII connection is pretty snug once it's been pressed all of the way on. If you'd like, PM me your shipping info and I'll get a new cable sent out to you. No charge for the cable since we're trying to fix an issue.

so far I have not had problems. have it connected up now on my trip to the south . works great I highly recommend it .. about a year old .
I did call to get some info on how to program it ,service was great .

Quick Update!

I have been running my 5 year old Scan Gauge with this upgrade for a few months, and I have to say this is one of my favorite upgrades to Natalia!

You can really see how different driving conditions can change the pressure and temperature of the tires, and I don't have to worry about what is going on with my tires on the highway or the trail.

Also, the update time between the TPMS sensor and the body ECU is not as long as I was let to believe. I would say ~1 minute when rolling...

I think it would depend on how new Amazon’s stock is. My guess it that you would probably need to send it in.

There is a chance it wouldn't be the latest firmware. We've been supplying the latest firmware to our resellers for only a couple of months now, but Amazon probably has some older units it needs to work through.

I shipped mine on Saturday and USPS is reporting it was delivered yesterday to a parcel locker in Mesa, Arizona. I can't believe how fast that was. I've always liked their Priority Mail service.
