AZ locals, gauging interest. Not local? Still gauging...

If my wife pushes me on the new trailer, looks like a new Tundra is in my future. I have a short list of things that I will be pulling off my truck if I do, below are said items. Local sale would obviously be the easiest on the larger items, but if the buyer pays shipping then it doesn't matter to me either way. All items are in fantastic shape.

BajaRack Utility with sunroof insert
GOBI ladder
BudBuilt bump out sliders with partial treadplate, powdercoated - no chipped powdercoat
ARB skids - non KDSS model - just checked them out and do not see any dings yet
AFE Stage II intake with dry filter (installed for a few days)

LOL damage? Its a vehicle not a relationship, are we all only friends because of it? I would prefer my wife keep it and trade in her Matrix, that is still an option. Not like I am making a "I am over this POS I bought another vehicle" thread, I love the 4R. The ONLY reason I would get rid of it is to be able to handle the 9000# travel trailer. If I squash that idea, the 4R is going nowhere.

Yes sir! I am trying to divert her over to a larger pop up with a deck on it to hold things like the generator. She likes the 4R but hates me carrying chainsaws/generators and crap in the back where she has to smell it the whole way to camp. I'd tell her to man up, but she lacks the hardware to do so lol.
 
Wait. So, you are really entertaining buying an entirely new trailer and a new truck because your wife doesn't like the smell of gasoline?

I do not particularly like smelling fuel and bar oil for 8hr drives either, much less having my children inhaling it. Not that it is important to you, but a travel trailer also offers a bathroom that you know is clean on the trips as well. That is a huge thing to have with children, especially being in the middle of nowhere on the way to Utah or Colorado. I prefer a popup with a deck on it rather than a travel trailer due to ease of towing and no need to get a new truck as well as being much more off road oriented. There are some travel trailers that can be towed with the 4R as well, but none that have the ground clearance or floor space of the one we want.

To answer your question, no. We camp at least once a month, and 3-4 large trips each year. Adding another child to the mix is a whole new element that I will have to contend with (space for instance, pop ups offer little to none when closed up for travel). There is more too it than her not liking the smell of gasoline. I fail to understand where you have reason to have such a problem with a decision that has no effect on you?
 
I would be interested in the skids and sliders. But looks like I got beat. But I will probably order new skids and just keep my shrockworks sliders.

I'm interested in the sliders, GOBI ladder, skids and AFE intake. I'm 'local' when I get back from Afghanistan some time around Feb.

Not to tell you what to do with your truck (traitor), but what about putting a reciever on the back of the pop-up and running a hitch-mount cargo rack off of that?

I can't blame ya there. I'm not particularly fond of toting around anything with hazardous fumes or flammable liquids inside the vehicle. If you decide to go another direction, more power to you, literally. I just wish I was closer so I could take some stuff off your hands. :bigok:
 
Man up and dump the wife. Afterwards sell the kids to the highest bidder to fund more mods and KEEP the 4R. :cool:

If you keep the 4R you could always get something like a Thule cargo box to transport the chainsaw and generator (if it isn't too big). We've had Tundras come out on trail runs with us and it's a pretty capable vehicle, especially compared to the Sequoia. Get the Crewmax TRD Off Road package and you've already got an upgrade to Bilsteins. You'll still be able to get to all the places I've seen in your pics.

Brock, I buy your Baja Rack.

Lima, I take yours local in Arlington. Then you drive to your new sunny AZ destination.

Then BAM, install Brock's rack once you arrive.

.....lets not worry about the silly fact that Lima's is practically brand new, has all his fancy lights wired to it, nor the fact that you'll probably need it to haul stuff cross country.
