Best price OEM LBJ's

Can anyone tell me where they got theres and how much they were. I've looked everywhere and having a hard time finding actual OEM ones. I checked the dealerships around here and they are about 130 or more. My Dealer guy said he could get them for 120.00 Seems a little high to me. Any info appreciated.

Anything I've missed, feel free to let me know. I'll steadily update this post. If any part numbers have been updated feel free to post them and I will update them here.

A couple notes: I used ToyotaPartsZone because their listings are easy to follow and link. Other sites like Camelback Toyota probably have better prices but are harder to link to one individual part. Also, in the compatibility lists you might not see your vehicle in the list immediately. You must click "See All Vehicles" to expand the listing.

I forget the exact numbers, but Camelback seemed to have good prices.
I recall thowing in a few other things (filters etc.) w/free shipping.
 
Toyota of Dallas (toyotapartsales.com) also has good prices if you need parts sooner. Order online, pick up at the dealership.
 
I got mine from Camelback. If they don't have them in stock and you need them now try toyotapartzone. My LBJ were the redesigned ones with the larger boot. I also purchased the boot protectors the '01-'02 4Runners use as well as the Sequoias and Tundras.

Can you post a picture with the dust cap on the lbj? I just replaced both of mine but never read anything about new dust caps! :redbrick:
 
I'm calling camelback today so I'll let you know. My runner was originally bought at toyota of dallas. Freeman toyota will match the prices at dallas.

If you log onto Camelback as an '01 or '02 it will come up when you search ball joints. I had never heard of them until we were talking about LBJ differences between '01-'02 4Runners and the early 3rd gens on a different forum.

Searching doesn't show up much unless you search Tundra or Sequoia. Such a search reveals this pictures from T4R which I believe is from an '01-'02 (after the recall).

I bought them just to see if they would fit and they do so I've left them on. It's been a couple months now with one trip to the Mojave and 2 small wheeling exploring trips.

Also check newnan toyota's website. I have found that newnan and toyota of dallas are usually within a dollar or 2 of each other, and are usually cheaper than camel. It goes back and forth though, so just check them all.
 
I can second toyotapartsales.com If what I needed wasn't in stock, they would usually get it next day. Good people in that dept to deal with. Now TOD's service dept on the other hand...quoted me $1200 on a timing belt job for my 01 4runner. Yeah, right...LOL!
 
I think they were $13 a piece. I'm hoping these are the last ball joints I have to install on my rig so I figured I'd get these to help them last. I figure keeping the boot protected and grease to stay in them they will last.
 
Since they are available I used them. The newer joints have thicker boots but I figured what the heck. For how much dirt and sand that is encountered on the trail and even the roads for that matter I chalk it up as cheap insurance.

My old joints were buttery smooth but the boots weren't perfect any more. As such they would weep grease every so often. Without the ability to inject more grease and after 150,000 miles I replaced them. If there were boots available and a way to get more grease in them I'd still be running them.

This looks like an interesting part, but I can't find it from any of the Toyota parts sites. Tried Sequoia, Tundra and various years of the 4rnr. Anyone have a part number or an exact vehicle that has these?

LBJ = $60.84

add $80 for shipping and 2 weeks for the parts to arrive.

Toyotapartsdeal.com (user friendly website) for $34.97 UBJ and all the misc. parts, except for the steering rack boots, which I suggest Amazon.

Amazon also for the $53.56 OTR. You can find then cheaper, but when you take into account the added shipping cost, this was a better deal.
